DicksonWare User Guide – TSB Loggers Only

TSB loggers are meant to be fully configured using the logger touchscreen.
DicksonWare is to be used to view and save data downloaded from the TSB logger.
Certain DicksonWare functions are not enabled for the TSB.

Installation Requirements
• Windows 7 or 8.1 PC’s
• .NET 4.5.2 or better
• Local Administrator Rights

Getting Started
• Connect USB Jump Drive to PC (jump drive should be smaller than 16GB)
• Run DicksonWare.Installation.msi to install
• The following icon will be saved to your desktop

• Double click to open DicksonWare

Downloading Logger via USB Jump Drive


• Insert USB jump drive into powered TSB logger
• USB symbol will appear in upper right hand corner of TSB
screen when USB jump drive is recognized
• Press the gear icon on the graph to enter menu

• Press the download to USB icon in the left column


• Press Save to USB
• Select DicksonWare

• A .loj file will be saved to the jump drive


• Connect jump drive to PC and Open DicksonWare
• Select Open File
• Windows Explorer will open – navigate to jump drive
• Click on .loj file to open

Saving/Exporting Data in DicksonWare
• Save the data as DicksonWare .loj file:
o File
o Save Data
o A Windows Explorer window will open. Select a location and save
o This file can be reopened in DicksonWare via the Open File button or File/Open
File

• Save a picture of the graph:


o File
o Export Graph/Data
o Select graph type
o Select export Destination
o Export Size will need to be adjusted to match desired image size
o Click Export

• Save data as a text file:


o File
o Export Graph/Data
o Select Text/Data
o Select Export Destination
o Click Export
o
• Save Logger Summary:
o File
o Export Summary
o A Windows Explorer window will open. Select a location and save
o Will open as an Excel file

NOTE: Data can be exported directly from the logger to a USB jump drive in CSV

Graph
• View:
o Each data channel will receive its own Y axis scale. Each channel is color coded
and can be modified by right clicking on the graph to access the graph editing
menu
o Each channel on the graph and table are represented by the replaceable sensor
serial number
• Zoom:
o Place mouse on graph and use scroll wheel to zoom in/out
o Use mouse to draw a box over desired data
• Unzoom:
o Use mouse scroll wheel to zoom out to display all data
o Right click on graph and select Undo Zoom
• Scroll: After zooming in on data a scroll bar highlighting displayed data will appear
below the graph. Drag scroll bar left/right
• Maximize:
o Go to File/Maximize Graph
o To make graph larger click on the grey bar just above the Logger Summary
section and drag down. Graph area will expand
• Cursor Time/Reading Box:
o Located in the upper right corner of the graph
o Will display reading and time stamp for the cursor location when the graph has
been zoomed
• Unit of Measure:
o The unit of measure for Temperature, Humidity and Pressure can be changed on
the graph/table and summary display
o Go to File/Preferences/Units
o Currently displayed data will be updated to reflect the new unit of measure

Table
• Zoom: Use graph zoom options
• Maximize: Click on the right edge of the scroll bar to view additional data columns
• Column Headers: Display the logger name and replaceable sensor serial number
• Data can be exported – see Saving/Exporting data section above

Summary
• If more than two channels are downloaded, Data Summary and Alarm Summary will
remain blank.
• Summary can be exported – see Saving/Exporting data section above

Secure
• Secure functionality features the following:
o Encrypted and locked saved data files – can only be viewed in DicksonWare
Secure installations
o Administrator controlled user logins for DicksonWare
o Audit trail of user activity
• To unlock the Secure feature contact Dickson Customer Support to purchase a key.
• Upgrading
o Once the Secure activation key has been procured, go to Help/Upgrade to
Secure and enter key
o User will be prompted to create an Administrator login
o Once complete got to Security/User to:
 Add/Edit/Delete users profiles
 Reset Passwords
o Once a new user has been added, they will be prompted to create their own
password when they login with their new ID.
• Audit Trail
o An audit trail of user activity can be found under Secure/Audit Trail
o A .csv export of all audit trail is made via the Save button
