INTRODUCTION
Globalization is the growth of international trade, investment,
technology and information all over the world. It is the merge of all
Asian countries with each other. Technology is a big factor of
globalization. The advanced and modern technology can help each nation
to access borders and top increase the economic growth of each country.
Globalization expands more in terms of the social, cultural, legal, and
political.
In the Philippines, globalization is important on how it works in the
economy and the development of the technology. Globalization helps
each country to have a cooperation to help each other and be united.
Globalization is formed to process of goods, services, and people around
the worlds. It works to every people to move and work in a different
country as well as the goods of each country can also be imported and
exported to a different country and destination. It helps every nation to
develop a global economy and increase the income of each country.
Globalization can help Filipino people to know the international status
and rights of each country nationwide. The Philippines are also been
friendly to the foreign country and they now stay connected in terms of
exchange of product and some investment.
The impact of globalization in the Philippines changes a lot in terms of
the culture, values, and economy. It also helps the improvement of
infrastructure in the Philippines. It gives more opportunities to all
Filipino to work abroad and help each country to stay connected.
Globalization has also helped to let know the people about global
warming, climate change, and the natural resources of the Philippines.
The effect of globalization can help a flexible communication and
greater understanding in terms of improvement and development of each
country condition. It also helps the local and international market to
create flexible labor across the miles. Globalization affects the
international market and enhances economic growth.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS
Globalization also have its side effects to the developed nations. These include some
factors which are jobs insecurity, fluctuation in prices,
Job Insecurities
In developed countries people have jobs insecurity. People are losing their jobs.
Developed nations have outsourced manufacturing and white collar jobs. That means less
jobs for their people. This is because the manufacturing work is outsourced to countries
where the costs of manufacturing goods and wages are lower than in their countries.
Fluctuation in price.
Globalization has led to fluctuation in price. Due to increase in competition, developed
countries are forced to lower down their prices for their products, this is because other
countries like China produce goods at a lower cost that makes goods to be cheaper than
the ones produced in developed countries.
Displacements of Workers
There are employment opportunities all over our huge world. However, most people
have had to leave their families for many years as they work abroad. As a result, couples
have divorced, remarried and left destitute children at the mercy of volunteers and
shelters. Some children haven’t been able to meet their old-aged parents’ needs because
the money they earn from their job is not enough.
Unemployment
In almost all developing countries over half of the working population relied on
casual jobs in industries until globalization took root. The advancement of technology has
reduced such employment and increased global need for skilled professionals.
Increased Lifestyle diseases
Globalization has brought in the consumption of processed foods, planting crops using
chemicals to minimize the duration of growth and increase profit. In order to benefit from
business, animals such as the cows are fed on chemicals that make them produce a lot of
milk or increase in weight for those that are sold for the meat industry.
Abandonment of Culture
Every community, society, or nation has its values and beliefs, that is to say – own
culture. They are essential because they mold the acceptable behavior of the people in a
particular community. The elders or leaders ensure that the people behave in a morally
upright way. However, globalization mixed different cultures
POSSITIVE EFFECT
It would be rather difficult to discuss the extent of the positives that globalization has
had on the world at large. But still, here are some of the positive effects of globalization
and the positive impacts they have had on so many demographic segments of society.
Technology
Globalization has helped to transport technology to developing countries. Some
investors and foreigners who have got a bargain with the people from developing
countries needed to communicate with them and exchange ideas as well as information.
The fastest way to do it was through using of modern technology.
Globalization can also help the Philippines education to improve more.
Globalization improves the quality of goods and services.
Being connected to other country means good to our country. It helps to do good quality
and give the best services to them so that we bring dignity to the Filipino people..
Foreign Investments
Globalization brought in the need for people from developed states to invest in some
developing countries. Foreign investment is one of the results of globalization that
culminates in many developments in these countries. For instance, some investors want
raw materials and goods to be transferred faster to the industry and the market
respectively.
Global market.
Most successful emerging markets in developed countries are a result of privatization of
state owned industries. In order for these industries to increase consumer demand many
of them are attempting to expand and extend their value chain to an international level.
Reducing the Gap between the Rich and the Poor
Globalization has notably declined the gap between rich and poor people. For many
centuries there has been a wide gap between these groups, a gap that seemed to widen
every year. Globalization enabled poor people to have access to job opportunities.
Education
Globalization has enabled further studies. Most developed countries have advanced
schools and colleges. They encourage people from overseas to study there. While it is just
a business venture like any other, students from developing countries take it as an
advantage to get further education and skills to use in their careers.
