Piaget's Cognitive Development in Children

The document summarizes Piaget's theory of cognitive development and applies it to analyze a video depicting children in different age groups completing Piagetian tasks. It describes four stages of cognitive development: sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational, and formal operational. In each stage, it observes children's behaviors in the video and analyzes them according to Piaget's expectations for cognitive abilities at that age. The conclusion emphasizes that children develop at different paces based on cognitive, emotional, social, and psychological factors.

INTRODUCTION

Piaget’s Cognitive Theory of Development focus on how children think,

observes, reason out and answers a particular situation base on their mental

ability. This explains on how child responses on a problem presented to him or

her. It is not just on the cognitive ability but the assistance of behavior through

cognitive ability. It includes analysis that children actively seek knowledge and

information. They have the ability to organize knowledge into complex cognitive

structure. A schema in which a child use to be able to understand a situation or

an experience and which will serve as a basis for organizing action to respond

to the environment. It is where the child tends to reason out on a problem given

to him or her by their own knowledge without asking to the adults. This serves as

a test on how child thinks on things in this world that they have their own

understanding base on what they see and they learn throughout a year. They

apply their past learning in reasoning out to a present situation.

This paper would help us analyze on how child thinks for us to be aware

and prepared to interact on their own perception on the world. The purpose of

this video analysis is that the reader would understand the children behavior

and their cognitive ability and to us to apply it on a future use.

As future educator or a pre-service teacher this would create a big to us

as we are to interact to a child as time comes. This serve as a big help to us for
us to apply all the learning we gather through this theory. We can be able to

interrelate to the children in a proper way. We can achieve a student-teacher

good relationship. Understanding the child behavior, the way they think and

their thinking level is what we are going to focus. We could be able to teach the

proper learning base on their ability to learn, their ways in learning and strategy

in learning.

III- CONCLUSION

In general, children have their own ability in thinking, behavior; attitudes

and thinking level that help them learn something. It is their strategy in learning

on how they interact to the world on how things are being observe base on their

cognitive ability with the motor coordination. This shows that children develop in

factors that they become an adult and more matured in thinking. This is a just

guide to the people on how to interact appropriately to the children and

awareness should be there.
