     • Introduction
A trade fair (trade show, trade exhibition, or expo) is an exhibition organized so
that companies in a specific industry can showcase and demonstrate their latest
products and services, meet with industry partners and customers, study activities
of rivals, and examine recent market trends and opportunities.

1. Achieving fuidity in functions by serving multiple purposes within the same
building.
2. Achieving low construction costs.
3. Designing a symbolic and an iconic structure
4. Use of sustainable materials and techniques (both active and passive) thereby
incorporating energy effciency.
5. To minimize the negative environmental impact of buildings by efficiency and
moderation in the use of materials, energy, and development space and the
ecosystem at large.
6. Minimize overall environmental impacts;
7. Protect occupant safety; and
8. Optimize whole building efficiency on a life-cycle basis.
   • Objectives and Scope and Limitations
1. To generate a vocabulary and design temperament of the project for architectural
expression that will reflect the urban character of that place
2. To promote a platform for interaction between various sections of society. This
would lead to better understanding of each other’s trade and spread awareness
among the people that is the need of the hour.
3. To study urban context of the site and surrounding and mark distinction
wherever required
4. To study the climatic responsive design
5. To study the socio-economic impact of the project and incorporate the desired
changes in the design
6. To create a space where corporate section can come and meet in informal way
and can share ideas & knowledge
7. The main objective of designing a convention centre is to help organizations hire
on temporary basis a few common facilities like auditoriums, seminar halls, lecture
rooms, convention halls, commercial/retail space etc., simultaneously in the same
premise.
8. To provide an international platform to the various sectors a great opportunity
through this Socio-Cultural Center cum International Convention Centre.
   • Description of the research work
The design comprises of an iconic convention centre& exhibition- halls.
Considerations have been made for the use of environment friendly materials to
achieve Green Building Features. Overall layout of the project includes convention
centre, exhibition halls, Restaurants, Business centre, open exhibition space with
parking basement. The Convention Center and Exhibition Halls are designed to
meet with the requirements for organising global meets, Conventions, seminars,
conferences, exhibitions of both national and international level with the state of
art facilities.
Consider all aspects of the building simultaneously. The building should
incorporate as many features as possible that reduce heating and cooling loads, for
example:
1. In skin-load dominated structures, employ passive heating or cooling strategies
(e.g., sun control and shading devices, thermal mass).
2. In internal-load dominated structures, include glazing that has a high cooling
index.
3. Specify exterior wall constructions that avoid thermal bridging.
4. Detail the exterior wall constructions with air retarder systems.
5. Incorporate the highest R-value wall and roof construction that is cost-effective.
6. Design efficient lighting systems.
7. Use daylight dimming controls whenever possible.
   • Conclusions/Summary of the work
Numerous creations, cultural activities and development, social interaction remain
unfulfilled if the trend of exhibitions and convention are not organized. Such
programmes need sufficient space to display and gathering purpose. So the
requirement of a centre for convention is necessary.
   • List of Case studies
The following centres are nominated for Case study purpose to understand.
   • Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC)
   • Science City Auditorium, Kolkata etc
