API-610 is a mechanical seal classification code. The third letter of the code indicates if the seal has a plain design without a throttle bush, includes a throttle bush with quench or drainage features, or is an additional auxiliary seal. Common examples are codes ending in N for plain seals or HN for seals with throttle bush and connection features.

T = throttle bush with quench, leakage and / or drainage connection
A = additional/ auxiliary seal (has to be stated)
