Structure elucidation is the process of determining the chemical structure of a compound, often using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Other techniques used include mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. UV/Vis spectroscopy is routinely used in analytical chemistry for the quantitative determination of analytes such as transition metal ions, highly conjugated organic compounds, and biological macromolecules.

Structural Elucidation

Structure elucidation is the process of determining the chemical structure of a compound. For organic
compounds, it will often involve the use of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR
spectroscopy). Other characterization techniques include mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy and
X-ray crystallography.

Characterization

UV/Vis spectroscopy is routinely used in analytical chemistry for the quantitative determination of
different analytes, such as transition metal ions, highly conjugated organic compounds, and biological
macromolecules
