VISITOR LOG MONITORING SYSTEM IN CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY

INTRODUCTION
These days the development of modern world is fast due of having advancement in
technology which rapidly seeking towards success. One of the useful modern technologies that
have been created is an “Automated or Computerized System”. It is now used by various fields
such as institutions, business, communication, companies, science and even the Learning of
Process of old fashioned way was shifted to technology ways. System exists to these fields to
help access information and processes easier and more productive. It is also a big help
especially in the office and library in Cavite State University, purpose of them, making the work
easier for the assigned staff to manage the security of the visitor log and monitoring system and
the data.
Cavite State University-Bacoor Campus (CvSU - Bacoor) ,is a government funded
university state in the province of Cavite in the Philippines , it is one of the campuses of Cavite
State University (CVSU) and CVSU-Bacoor was located in Molino IV, Soldiers IV Phase II
Molino VI, Sampaguita St. Bacoor Cavite. An institution of learning that started out in 1906 main
campus indang cavite and in 2008 was Cvsu-bacoor cavite was started. The educational
institution has seven courses offered, and these are the following courses;
BS Criminology, BSIT (Information Technology) , BS Com-Sci (Computer Science) , BS
Pscychology , BS HRM (Hotel,Restaurant and Management) , BS ED.(Education) - English or
Math major and BSBM (Business Management). Cavite State University – Bacoor Campus is a
growing institution where in all the processes are done manually.the institution is a free tuition
fee, and have a lots of scholarship programs offered for those student who has an eagerness
and willingness to study.
The institution librarian uses a manual recording log in and log out process to the students who
are visiting and are trying to search something inside the library. The researcher from the
University Of Cavite State University wanted to know which types of students and visitors get
more visits from their respective department to the library and inside the university. The authors
collected data from the librarians office and faculty who were admitted to and released the
recorded data and information.
Statement of the Problem
To propose the Visitor Log Monitoring System, the researchers list down the difficulties
that may encounter while creating the propose project and system. These are the ff:
1. What are the possible ways to lessen the time for logging in through survey and
interviews?
2. What is the possible benefits of using the propose visitor log and monitoring system?
3. How to design a visitor log monitoring system using Iterative Waterfall methodology?
4. How will the propose visitor log and monitoring system be develop?
5. How will the propose visitor log and monitoring system be evaluated?
Theoretical Framework
Structure Visitor Log and Monitoring System Figure 2 show the whole structure of Visitor
Log Monitoring System. After a user accessed the IP address of Library Management System,
the initialization interface would be shown in the browser unless a server error was detected by
the web server. Here, the user could access the top 10 ranking and search modules without
login. Once the user had logged in successfully, the user would be able to select the main
functions of the Library Management System which were Book Status, Lending, Return Books,
Lending Status, Online Shopping, E-mail Service and Logout. If the username and password
the user entered did not tally with the values stored in the database server, then the webpage
would notice the problem and be turned back to the index page. The web server cooperated
with the database server and all the information used in this system was stored in the MySQL
database server.
Significance of the study
This system will help improve the manual process of visitor log and monitoring system in
the university. This system project is propose on how to design and develop a computer based-
monitoring system for Cavite State University to utilized the university in promoting safety
and good service of welcoming visitor. This will provide a security level to the ff;
University CVSU Bacoor – will increase its security level interms of visitor log and monitoring
system.
Student – is someone who is responsible for her own learning and study inside the institution.
Administrator System – this feature of the developed system allows the administrator to access
the overall functionalities of the system and would allow accessibility rights to authorized users
and personnel of the library.
Users – this feature of the system is a guide for the assigned personnel or staff to monitor the
visit areas of the visitor in the library or in the university.
Objectives of the Study
Generally, this study aims to develop and looking forward for the progress of visitor
log and monitoring system in Cavite State University ₋ Bacoor Campus .
Specifically, this study aims to:
1. Identify problems encountered by clients through survey and interview that researchers
conducted.
2. Analyze the problems in terms of computation and recording manually process.
3. Design a system that will help to lessen and consume time and efforts of the visitors and
the users using 4GT Methodology.
4. Develop a visitor log and monitoring system will help the user to improve the user’s ability in
answering using and Adobe Photoshop for the design and;
5. Evaluate the performance of the propose visitor log monitoring system based on WLAG 2.0.
Scope and Limitation of the Study
Visitor Log Monitoring System has (3) module. First form Log in form which is the
user information. Second form which composed of course, year level and section and third form
is information which shows the date, time and year. The following are the Scope and Limitation;
The CVSU-Bacoor , Visitor’s Log Monitoring System is accessible by the authorized
users and faculty staff only. By using the given password and username the system users can
easily update and encode the data of the visitors. The project focused on the development of
the CVSU-Bacoor Visitor’s Log Monitoring System for the users and staffs of CvsU-Bacoor.
That will automate the monitoring system of visitors. This system is to provide efficient, reliable,
fast, accurate information to good quality service, to secure the file of the visitors. This system
can add, update and removed the data of the visitors in the library or in the school.
The following are the Limitations of the study:
This system is only for local and it can’t be put online.
Can’t reveal the information of the visitors.
