attitudes, as well as assist me in learning the
AREA OF EXPOSURE art of our profession.
I have been exposed to Butuan Medical
Center for a couple of times, and here I am
again about to make tours of duties in the same
institution. This time, I will be focusing on the
Surgery Ward. In most cases, I expect the area
to be suitable and conducive for my learning
and nurturing of skills to become an effective
nurse.
CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR
For the past rotations, I always expect
my clinical instructor to be strict enough but
reasonable. For me, strictness doesn’t mean
rudeness to the students. It is a form of
discipline and compliance for students. So, as
for this rotation, I hope my clinical instructor will
be helping me in cultivation of skills and
GROUPMATES
My colleagues and I have been together
for quite sometime. I have known them, not
totally, but enough for me to establish a smooth
working relationship. Everybody has flaws,
however, I understand than ‘flaws’ are not
acceptable in the nursing profession. That’s
why I have some expectations from my group
mates as well as from me: I hope we’ll all be
responsible and vigilant enough to do our tasks.
SELF
My self has been my greatest foe. When I
want to accomplish something, there will
always be a time when I feel so lazy. I have
been having a hard time managing my time,
too. However, it’s not worse anymore. I have
learned to gradually overcome that. But I still
want to totally eradicate my negative habits.
That’s why for this rotation, I expect myself
manage my time too well and as much as
possible, never commit errors.
