RT9420 Encoder

The document provides installation instructions for an RT9420 transducer in 3 parts - Mechanical, Electrical, and Calibration. It warns not to rotate the shaft beyond its limits or apply excessive loads. It instructs how to mount the transducer, attach the shaft via coupling ensuring it does not exceed rotation limits, and connect the system wiring and power supply for calibration. It shows the electrical connector and recommends grounding the sensor chassis. It also describes how to access and adjust the zero and span trimpots to change the calibrated measurement range.

RT9420 installation instructions

WARNING!! • Do not rotate shaft beyond full range!

WARNING!! • Do not apply excessive loads to shaft!

MECHANICAL

1. Note mechanical limitations of shaft rotations. Ro-

tate shaft to full counter-clockwise position. Note
zero reference marks on shaft and housing. ZERO REFERENCE ALIGNMENT MARK

2. Mount transducer via the 4 threaded mounting

holes to a flat solid surface.
MOUNTING HOLES (4 PLACES)

3. Attach shaft using appropirate flexible coupling

assuring that shaft will not be rotated beyond me-
chanical limits.

ELECTRICAL
4. Connect system wiring. 5. Using zero and span controls, calibrate to exact measurement range.
