A. Preliminary Activities
Good morning class? Good morning ma’am!
Ashley lead the prayer. Thank you for this wonderful day Lord.
Before you take your seat, kindly pick up some pieces
of papers under your chairs. And remember do not do
   other stuff during our class.
   Am I understood? Yes ma’am!
Class monitor what is the update of our attendance There are 30 present ma’am and 4 absents.
   today?
It’s good to hear that there are only few who are
   absent today.
B. Review
What was our last topic all about?
Yes Jeneria? Ma’am our last topic was all about the basic
                                                               concepts of Statistic.
Any question regarding the last topic? None ma’am!
If none, let us proceed with our next lesson.
C. Motivation
Do you want to be energized, class? Yes ma’am!
It is good to hear that! This time, let us become
energized. I will group the class into three. Group one
will be called as Team Proton, Group two will be called
as Team Electron and Group three will be called as
Team Neutron. After the groups are created, go to your
respective area where your group is designated. Am I
   clear class? Yes ma’am!
Very good. Class, are you familiar with the Periodic
Table of Elements? Yes ma’am in our chemistry subject.
Since you are familiar with the periodic table of
elements, I will show you same concept of it, and it is
called as M’s Table of Elements. This table is composed
of Mean, Median, and Mode as elements.

In this activity I will ask questions and each group
needs to be very attentive to listen and understand
each question. When a group has decided an answer,
they may shout their team’s name to nominate an
answer. However, if a team have nominated an
incorrect answer, other teams will be given a chance.
Am I clear, class? Yes ma’am!
Very good, class. Now, are you ready? Yes we are ready ma’am!
Great! Thus, let us begin this game. The first two
questions are quite easy, but the final question will be
       quite hard.
       1. What word occurs most in the M’s Table of
Elements? Mode is the word that occurs most in the M’s table
                                                                                   of elements ma’am.
          Very good!
       2. What is the middle word in the third row of M’s Median is the middle word in column three ma’am.
          Table of Elements?
          Excellent!
       3. Count all the words inside the table and divide it by Mean ma’am!
five, the answer corresponds to a word inside the
          table.
Based on our activity, what might be our topic for I think our topic for today ma’am is all about Mean,
          today, class? Median, and Mode.
          Yes, Earl John?
All of you are good! Our topic for today will be all
about the measures of central tendency of
ungrouped data which are the mean, median and
          mode.
Now, everybody read our objectives for this lesson. At the end of the lesson, the students must be able
                                                             to:
                                                             a. define the types of measures of central tendency
                                                             of ungrouped data;
                                                             b. identify the types of measures of central
                                                             tendency of ungrouped data;
                                                             c. participate actively in group activity; and
                                                             d. solve problem involving measures of central
                                                             tendency of ungrouped data.
D. Activity
This time, we will have an activity. This activity will be
called as “Finding MeMeMo”. I will provide each
group an envelop with playing cards. Inside these
envelop is the instruction of your group task.
Therefore, you must read it carefully. After that, a
member will be called randomly to present your output
   through using numbered heads.
You are given five minutes to do the task. Is that clear? Yes, ma’am!
Very well. Since you are ready, we will begin this
activity. And your time starts now! (Each group will prepare to present their specific
                                                             tasks)
Time is up! Since group proton received box one,
   therefore they will present first.
In receiving box one; we determine that we are
given a specific task which is to find the mean. In
solving for the mean, we first add all the amount of
numbers then divided by the quantity of cards.
Thus, in that way we come up with the mean of the
Very good! Now, let us welcome group neutron since cards we received.
   they received the second box.
In our box, we received a task which is to find the
median. In finding median, we first arranged the
cards from ace to 10 as reminded of us. After the
arrangement, we were able to determine the
                                                             middle number or median.
Good job! This time, let us proceed to the last group,
Group electron. As the last group, we were assigned with mode. In
identifying the mode of the cards, we look for the
most repetitive number that the card have.
Very good! All of you have been able to accomplish this
activity without confusion. Let us give ourselves a
   round of applause.
   E. Analysis
Based on our previous activity, what is mean? Mean is the average of all the numbers in a given
                                                                   data.
Very good. Now, how are you going to determine the
mean of a given data? In determining the mean of a given data, just add
up all the numbers in a set and divide by the total
                                                                   number of data.
Good! Now, how about mode? Mode is the number that appears most times in the
                                                                   given data
Very good! Class, how are you going to define a Median is the middle number in a given data.
      median?
Brilliant idea! Lastly, in what way can we identify the In identifying the median just simply arrange all the
median of a given data? data in ascending order.
Very good! It seems that all of you understand the
basic concept of mean median and mode of ungrouped
      data.
   F. Abstraction
To reinforce information of our topic for today let us
discuss further the mean, median, and mode.
Like what you’ve said a while ago mean is the average
of all the numbers in a given data. For example, the
following are the scores of a group of students in a
      math quiz:
      4, 3,5, 1, 7, 8, 9, 5, 6
Just simply add all of their scores and divide it with the
number of students who take the quiz.
        4+3+5+1+7+9+9+5+6
                          = 5.44
                9
Therefore 5.44 now is our mean.
Any question? None so far ma’am!
If none let us proceed with median. With the same
data we just need to rearrange it from lowest to
      highest
      1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9
And now we can identify that the median of the data
      given is six.
      Any question?
Yes Liam? Ma’am what if the given data are even?
Very good question Liam. If the given data is even for
example 1,2,3,4 just simply add the two middle data
which is 2 and 3 and divide it by 2.
Am I understood class? Yes ma’am!
Lastly, in finding the mode, like how you define it, just
look for the number that occurs most. For example 1,
        3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9 what might be the mode of the
        given data? 9 ma’am!
Why 9? Because 9 is the number that occurs most.
        Very good!
Is there any clarification? None ma’am!
IV. Application
At this moment, let us apply our learning in real life
where all of us can relate. Are you excited? Yes ma’am!
Very good to hear that! With the same group you will
be given specific task. For group proton, you will gather
data about the age of your group mates. For group
electron, you will be assigned to gather data in hours
you spent on social media. Lastly, group neutron will be
assigned to gather data about your daily allowances. Is
        everything clear, class? Yes ma’am!
Nice, class. After you received the data, you will find its
mean, median and mode. After that, a member will be
called randomly to present your output through using
numbered heads. And this will be the criteria of your
        group output presentation.

You only have five minutes to do that activity, and your
        time starts now!
Time’s up! Group proton will be the first to report
followed by team electron and lastly team neutron.
                                                                                      (presentation of group output)
