The J-Slot Seal Assembly is designed to anchor tubing strings and place them in tension or reduce upward movement from expansion and contraction. It provides automatic latching when tubing is slacked off, engaging lugs in the packer. The latch can be released by rotating the tubing one-third turn to the right while pulling upward on the tubing.

HALLIBURTON J-SLOT LOCATOR

The J-Slot Seal Assembly is designed to anchor the


tubing string and place tubing in tension or to reduce
upward movement of tubing due to expansion or
contraction. The J-Slot provides for automatic latching
by slacking off tubing. This engages the J-Slot lugs in
the packer. The latch is designed to be released by
rotating the tubing at the packer approximately one-
third turn to the right while pulling upward on the
tubing.
