DUTIES OF THE FIRE FIGHTING TEAM
The firefighting team shall update their attendance on the emergency head count
check list for Division Emergency Response Team and shall immediately don the fire
retardant coverall, full face respirator and simultaneously check prepare the
fire extinguisher & gas detector.
2. DUTIES OF THE LOGISTIC TEAM
Supporting logistical activities such as planning, supply chain, stock management, and
oversight of communication. The team also Gather & analyses data to assess current &
future requirements, Use of systematic decision making processes, Continually monitor
intelligence & operations to determine situation, Update systems to influence planning &
decision making, Based on objectives make recommendations for resolution of the
incident.
3. SALVAGE TEAM
Provides guidance on salvage priorities, disposition decisions, and replacement options for
collection materials, and long-term restoration of collection materials. (e.g., archives,
manuscripts, photographs, microforms, electronic records, etc.), department (e.g.,
reference, periodicals, reserves.), or physical location (e.g., room, floor, building, etc.).
4. SECURITY TEAM
Responsible for making sure that the Division Office personnel and its properties are
guarded all the time. Its main function is to maintain guard the safety of the Division as a
whole.
5. COMMUNICATION TEAM
Specifies staff with responsibility for communication in the event of an emergency. It
requires that current contact information (phone, cell phone, email, emergency contact) for
all staff be on file with a central authority, like Human Resources, and should be in multiple
formats (password protected intranet, paper, etc.); and identifies staff responsible for the
maintenance of this information.
6. RESCUE TEAM
Have the ability to perform a rescue in an appropriate time frame (e.g. 4 minutes). The
team should be equipped to perform the rescue in the hazards.
7. FIRST AID TEAM
The role of a first aider is to provide immediate, lifesaving, medical care before the arrival of
further medical help. This could include performing procedures such as:
Placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position
Performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
Stopping bleeding using pressure and elevation
Keeping a fractured limb still
A first aider’s overall aim should be to preserve life. Other aims of first aid include
prevent the worsening of the patient’s condition and to promote recovery.
