In the interest of the service and in view of the increase in the national equivalent road length
of Ilocos Sur 1st District Engineering Office for a total of 121.110 kilometers subsequent to
the inclusion of the converted portions of Bantay-Vigan Road Extension and Manila North
Road (Quirino ByPass Wye Length) into national roads through Department Order (D.O.) No.
131, series of 2016, superseded by D.O. No. 138, series of 2016 and by virtue of Executive
Order (E.O.) No. 113, series of 1955, respectively, as well as the completion of road widening
projects from 2-lanes to 3-lanes and 4-lanes along the portions of Bantay-San Vicente Road
and Manila North Road funded under the MVUC for CY 2014-2015 and Vigan-Sta. Catalina
Road under the GAA FY 2016, the Ilocos Sur 1st District Engineering Office, Region I is
hereby reclassified from 3rd Class DEOto 2nd Class DEO.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
