GK Exam-Agriculture in Rajasthan

Total area of Rajasthan is 3 lakh 42 thousand 2 hundred 39 sq. Km. is. Which is
10.41 percent of the country. In Rajasthan, 11 percent of the country's area is
agricultural land and the state has 50 percent gross irrigated area while 30
percent is pure irrigated area.

Rajasthan has 60 percent area and 10 percent area is mountainous. Thus, the
agricultural work is not completed and the deserted land is found to be lacking
in the means of irrigation. Due to dependence on rain in most of the state's
farming, the state is called the monsoon gambling in the state.

Rabi crop of October, November and January-February

Zayed's crop March-April and June-July

Kharif is called Unalu.

Rabi is called Sialu / Savnu.

Note- The average size of agriculture land in the state is 3.96 hectares. Which is

Food crops

1. Wheat

The most eaten and the most-consumed food grains in Rajasthan is wheat. The
highest production of wheat in the country is in Uttar Pradesh. Rajasthan is the
fourth place in the country in wheat production. The eastern part of Rajasthan
maintains a leading position in wheat production. Whereas in Sriganganagar
district the state is first in wheat production. Due to higher wheat production,
Ganganagar is said to be the state's food store and earning pot. In Rajasthan,
the major varieties of wheat are golden-welfare, gold, sugarcane, kohinoor,
and maxiine.

2.Jew

Uttar Pradesh has the highest production of barley in the country. U.P. After
Rajasthan, barley is second in production. Barley is the highest in the eastern
region of Rajasthan and Jaipur district is the first state in the production of
barley. Among the major varieties of barley in Rajasthan, Jyothi Rajkiran and
RS-6 are the major ones. Barley is useful in making malt.

3. Jowar (Sorghum / Poor Roti)

The tide is used as a food grain. The highest tide in the country is in
Maharashtra. While Rajasthan holds fourth place in the country. Rajasthan has
the highest production of tide in the central part. While Ajmer is at the first
place in the district tide production. The major variety in the state of jowar is
PV-96.

Rajasthan has been established in Jawar Research Center, Vallabhnagar,


Udaipur.

4. Mack

The main food grains of Southern Rajasthan is Mecca. The highest maize
production in the country is in Uttar Pradesh. While Rajasthan is the eighth
place in the production of maize in the country. Chittorgarh district of
Rajasthan is first in maize production. In Rajasthan, the W-126 variety of maize
is sown, whereas the Krishi Research Station Banswara has prepared mahe
kanchan and mahi rice variety of maize.

5. Chanwal

The food most consumed in the country is Chavan. Its highest production in
the country is in West Bengal. Chavan's production in Rajasthan is less than
half a percentage of nominal. In the Ghagghara river flow area (groove belt) of
Hanumangarh district, Chaval is called "Garada Vasamati" in Rajasthan. While
the Agricultural Research Center Baswanda has developed the Mahi Sugandha
variety of Chavnal.

Chavan requires 20 to 25 degree Celsius temperature and 200 centimeters of

6. Chana

producer of gram in the country after Uttar Pradesh. In Rajasthan, Churu
district holds the first position in the production of gram. When wheat and

millet. There is a hybrid millet in the eastern part of Rajasthan. It requires more
irrigation. Bajra research center in Rajasthan is located in Badmer.

9.Ganna

Indian origin is. That is, the first production of sugarcane in the world was in
India. The first sugarcane farming started in southern India. At present, the
world's highest production of sugarcane is produced in India. In Uttar Pradesh,
the state is ranked first in the production of sugarcane (40 percent of the
country). The production of sugarcane in Rajasthan is only nominal (0.5
percent). Bundi district holds a leading place in sugar production in Rajasthan.
Due to low production of sugarcane, only three sugars have been found in
Rajasthan.

10.Cotton

Cotton is an Indian origin plant. The first cotton production in the world is in
the Indus Valley Civilization. Currently, the highest cotton in the world is
produced in India. Whereas Gujarat State holds the first position in cotton.
Rajasthan is fourth in the country. There are three types of cotton in Rajasthan.

Currently Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan holds a leading position in cotton


production. While cotton production in Jaisalmer and Charau is only nominal.
Cotton is called "Baniya". Cotton is extracted from cotton, it is made from
cloth. A lump of cotton is 170 kg.

11.Tambaku

12. Tillage (oilseeds development program 1984-85)

Saraso, Rai, Tarmeria, Sesame, Peanut, Arandi, Soyabeen, Hohoba are the main
oilseeds grown in Rajasthan. Rajasthan is third in production of oilseeds. Uttar
Pradesh is the first in the production of oilseeds. But Rajasthan is the first place
in the production of mustard and mustard.

Bharatpur district of Rajasthan is first in the state in the production of mustard.


Central Mustard Research Center Saver Bharatpur was established in 1983.

World production of peanuts is highest in the world. Gujarat state holds the
first position in production of groundnut. Rajasthan is the fourth place in the

Ho Hoba (Jojoba)

It is a type of oilseed that is grown from Israel in India. Its birthplace is the
desert of Arizona. Its cultivation in India was first introduced by CAJRI Institute,
Jodhpur. It is cultivated in these areas where there is a lack of irrigation
resources. Its oil is used in cosmetic toiletries, large -2 machrio and lubricants
in airplanes.

Establishment of TITUTE (Central Dry Areas Research Center) with the help of
Australia and UNESCO, 1959, its headquarters are in Jodhpur. The key work of
KAZA is to prevent marital spread, to promote tree plantation and to

Jaisalmer, Pali, Bhuj, Ladakh
