            G. Brief Executive Summary of the Project
Online payment refers to money that is exchanged electronically. It is usually the
transaction that results in transfer of monetary funds from the customer bank or credit
account to a bank account. Typically, this involves the use of computer networks, the
internet and digital stored value systems.
An online payment processing system provides schools with an easy and efficient
method to collect fees and receive electronic payments for school registration, field-trips,
T-shirts, and any other school-related fees. The system makes it possible for all schools
to offer the parents and students the convenience of online payment without incurring
large administration or setup costs.
Parents and students can access the system through a link on the home page of
the school’s web site. The user selects the specific fees that they want to pay for using
credit cards or electronic checks, payments are automatically processed and the money
is transferred to the school’s local bank account(s).
   II. Project Proposal Proper
            A. Introduction
In today's society, the cost of a college or university education becomes more
expensive each semester for incoming first-year students, as well as for continuing
students. With the cost on the rise, college administrators need to address the long term
financial management associated with the increased responsibility of student personal
debt. Their purpose is to organize the financial and accounting affairs including the
preparation and presentation of appropriate accounts, and the provision of financial
information for students. Therefore, the employees who works in the finance department
must ensure that they have the proper system to manage their daily task more efficiently.
In the past, the entire task is done by handwriting and written on the papers. But
since the technology become more sophisticated, the traditional method is replaced to a
new system that makes use of the technology. It is most advantageous for finance
department to access data with the new system. The reason behind this is because
nowadays it is possible for computer application program to be developed as a student
payment system.
          B. Project Description
The proposed project is an internet-based system that could help lessen the
disadvantages of the method of manual payment. The said system is an easy and efficient
method to collect fees from the system’s users or the parents and students at First Asia
Institute of Technology and Humanities. This system is also specifically developed for the
parents’ and students’ convenience.
          C. Objectives
             1. To gather information about the proposed system
             2. To develop and implement a student payment system
             3. To apply a paperless system
             4. To keep all records safe and secure
          D. Significance
Convenient: Parents and students can make payments 24 hours a
                    day, 7 days a week.
Control: Eliminate lost checks or cash.
Timely: Payments are reflected online immediately.
User-friendly: Processes both credit cards and electronic checks.
Secure: Ensures private and secure transmissions by requiring
passwords throughout the program and not storing personal bank or
                    credit card information.
Accessible: View historical purchases and payments online.
          E. Project Components/Strategies
                   Methodology
This part discusses the data collection and different kind of resources that were
used to develop the study. The proponents gathered the information to support the
system to be able to complete the details and information of the proposed system.
In conducting the research and gathering information, we used the internet
research method.
The internet research method is the most common and the widest sources of
information. The proponents used several search engines to accomplish in a better way
of understanding the project. It also helps to explore our knowledge and gathering
information not only in local but throughout the world.
                    Data Gathering Techniques
The inquiries used for this project should be precise about the information that will
be delivered. The proponents used a method which is interview to fulfill the needs of this
project. The proponents interviewed the all the people who are involved in the proposed
project—the students and parents, accounting department, administrators, etc. The
following are some of the questions that have been asked by the interviewers to the
interviewees that helped to gather data and information:
       1. Are you in favor or against the implementation of an online payment of school
          fees? Why?
       2. What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of having an online
          payment?
       3. Do you think that you will be benefited by this proposed project?
       4. What are your suggestions to better and enhance the said project?
                      Implementation
The implementation of the computer-based system will be carried out using a link
that is connected to the main website of the school. Also, the online payment of school
fees will be an optional mode of payment. Parents and students can still use the manual
mode of payment if they are not able to pay through online. The choice of payment
depends on the payer; the parents and students are not in any way required to pay
through manual payment nor through online payment.
