Example Find the area of the trapezoid. 1 A = 2h(b1 + b2) Area of a trapezoid
1 A = 2 (4)(3 + 6) Replace h with 4, b1 with 3, and b2 with 6.
1 A= 2 (4)(9) Add 3 and 6.
A = 18 Simplify.
The area of the trapezoid is 18 square centimeters.
