TSM.MC.8.WP. Taking Manual Backup for Windows Servers
Using the GUI mode from the TSM Linux client we can trigger
the manual backup. For this the TSM LINUX/AIX Client installaiton
must be installed in the LINUX client machine. The GUI mode of the
TSM can be opened from the below mentioned comands.
Command Steps:-
1. java –version echo
2. $DISPLAY
3. export DISPLAY=(ip address of the remote machine):0.0
4. run the Xmanager passive in the remote machine
5. dsmj cmd in the remote client machine.

Then the configuration should be done in the Client preference
option from the TSM GUI mode and the include and exclude file can
be added in the below screen shot.

Then the after the backup can be triggered for the BACKUP option in
the TSM Client GUI mode. Before triggring the backup button the
check box should be checked in from the TSM console and then
Backup can be triggred.

After triggring the Backup and if the configurations
are done the backup will run sucessfully to specified
tape library. The screen shot of the running backup is
shown below.
