EPOFINETM - 740 / FINEHARDTM 5200
(EPOXY RESIN FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE LAMINATING SYSTEM)
PRODUCT
EPOFINETM - 740 is a laminating grade liquid epoxy resin and FINEHARD TM 5200 is a
formulated aromatic amine hardener. This laminating system has low viscosity at room
temperature and has excellent chemical resistance and mechanical properties. The long pot life
with FINEHARDTM - 5200 facilitates the production of very large industrial and aerospace
parts.
APPLICATION
EPOFINETM 740 / FINEHARDTM 5200 system is suitable for processing by Filament
Winding, Wet lay-up and Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM, SCRIMP). Almost all high
performance industrial composites requiring high mechanical strengths at elevated
temperatures can be made of this system.
SPECIAL FEATURES
The following advantages make it ideal for industrial use.
Simple mixing ratio (Resin : Hardener = 100 : 24 by weight)
Tolerant mixing ratio ( 2 %).
Low viscosity resin/hardener mix, ensures proper wetting of the glass fibre.
Very long pot life
Very good inter-laminar adhesion
Excellent water resistance.
Very Good chemical resistance and electrical insulation.
High glass transition temperature (Tg).

STORAGE , HANDLING AND DISPOSAL
Storage : Store in a cool, dry place.
Shelf life : As given above, when stored in original sealed
containers at 2 40oC.
Handling : Use hand gloves and protective glasses.
Disposal : Dispose by incineration or as per local regulations.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Flash point : Look for the individual values as baove
Precautions : In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
In case of eye irritation, bathe the affected eye with
running water for at least 15 minutes, and get
medical attention.
