The provisional figures of Indias largest Census 2011 were released in New Delhi on 31st March 2011 by GK Pillai
and C Chandramouli.
Census 2011 was started on 1st April 2010 with President Pratibha Patil being the 1st citizen to be enumerated,
followed by Vice President Hamid Ansari
The estimated cost of the Census was Rs. 22 Billion
Increase in Population is about 181 million
