TOPIC: Various learning styles and knowledge students studying at Faculty of

Cognitive Science & Human Development, UNIMAS

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND:

Students have different levels of motivations, vary attitudes towards teaching and
learning, responds differently to the classroom environment and teaching practice.
Students learn in different ways to see and hear and do, to think logically and intuitively,
and memorize, remember and reflect. However, the possibility exists that students learn
to deal with conflict when not have appropriate learning style. Problems occur when
students' learning styles cannot be adapted to the style of teaching activities and lectures.
As a result students become bored and not concentrating; cause them to fail to get high
marks in examinations, are less interested in a particular subject and thus give up.
Differences in the individual can be tracked associated with aspects of physical, mental,
emotional and social. As a result of each student have a tendency diversity and different
learning styles, different learning strategies and different learning rates. Some of these
individuals have a dominant learning style, and others who use different learning styles
adapted according to the environment.

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM:

Learning inappropriate study skills is a problem faced by students who want to achieve
success. Students often face problems to take notes, plan your work, time to learn and do
not always have time to run out to read notes during the exam.
Among the causes of the decline in student academic achievement is that they fail to
adapt to the ways of teaching and learning in university in addition to not having the right
learning style. As a result, many of the less successful students failed to achieve excellent
results recognize themselves lack knowledge in learning skills. They cannot find the most
appropriate learning skills with their own attitudes. This clearly demonstrates the need for
a student to know the learning style and learn to master the skills that best suits yourself,
especially during exams.
OBJECTIVE:
Identifying learning styles practiced by students of Bachelor in the Faculty of
Cognitive Science & Human Development, UNIMAS.
Determine the level of student learning knowledge among students of Bachelor in
the Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development, UNIMAS.
RESEARCH QUESTION:

What is the diversity of learning styles practiced by the students of Bachelor in the
Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development, UNIMAS ?
What is the level of student learning skills among students with a degree in the
Faculty of Cognitive Science & Human Development , UNIMAS ?
