Learn to structure a detailed Search Query to find a valuable resource
Say you want to find a public domain image of something. This is not as easy as
you might think. Various "free license" like GNU license images abound, but the
licenses require attribution, which is not always what you want to do. You want
a good picture and you want to find it fast.
But that's not all you want. Ideally, you want to search in an image search
engine like Google Images, so you can see a thumbnail before clicking.
For example, you might like to structure a query like this:
flower site:[Link] "in the public domain"
"jpg - Wikimedia" OR "jpeg - Wikimedia" OR "png -
Wikimedia"
So a bit of searching tells us that on [Link], public domain images are tagged with
"PublicDomain". So we try this on Google Images:
flower site:[Link] PublicDomain
But we find lots of links to index pages that we don't need. So we go back to the image pages
themselves to find an identifying piece of information, so we can let the Search Engine know exactly
what we are looking for. And we find that the picture pages themselves always have "[Link]" in
the title, but the unwanted index pages do not. So we settle on a query of:
flower site:[Link] Public Domain intitle:[Link]
How to find any video on Google - Google Tricks
Some people wish they could go back to the mid-90s before Alltheweb was bought by Yahoo and they
still had their advanced search features allowing you to search for MP3s, AVIs, [Link] I say look
forwards, not backwards
You just need to know how to use all the features of a modern search engine effectively.
To find any video on Google, let's start with the oldest trick in the book: an "index of" search. But let's
format our "index of" search really carefully, to avoid all the millions of spam pages that spammer
stupidly try to trick us with.
And, awesome. First page, 9th link, there it is. Still a bit of spam at the top (They are so clever, and yet so
dumb. Why target savvy searchers? You are not going to beat a savvy searcher at their own game.)
Perhaps the searchstring could be modified to include -site:[Link] and so on.
Example: [Link] mp3 linkinpark (download any music)
intitle [Link] avi avatar (download any movies)
Now you can see those types of search results

Different Types of Files at your will
How many times would you have asked for materials (PDF, PPT, DOC) for a particular
topic from a friend? Its almost everyday that we might have the necessity to ask them
either for knowledge, preparing a presentation, white-paper or for case studies. Such
times it mostly difficult to look out what to exactly search for because most of the times
you don’t know about the topic at hand. But this petty keyword unleashes its lethal
power at such occasions.
Let’s say I want to implement a case study on SOA which means I have to read a
lot of information for SOA. So I just have to find materials which might have
already been uploaded on the web in the form of PDF’s, DOC’s or PPT’s. These
materials can be easily obtained by doing a search for:
Type in google (you can use any file names of your document)
PPT – service oriented architecture filetype:ppt
DOC – service oriented architecture filetype:doc
PDF – service oriented architecture filetype:pdf
Calculate with your browser
Every OS has a calculator inbuilt but when the browser is the thing which is
constantly open whey bother to open up a calculator. Open Google and straight
away type your mathematical expression. You can go all the way from basic
arithmetic to trigonometrical expressions. This is simply amazing stuff
accomplished by Google.

Compare your currency with others
Now that the dollar is declining, the rest of the world must be busy trying to check
the impact of the dollar on their currencies. But first of all one must know how
much a particular currency amounts to when cashed in another currency. Google’s
inbuilt currency converter just does this.

Google + Social Media Sites = Quality Free Stuff
If you are on the hunt for free desktop wallpaper, stock images, Wordpress templates or
the like, using Google to search your favorite social media sites is your best bet. The
word “free” in any standard search query immediately attracts spam. Why wade through
potential spam in standard search results when numerous social media sites have an
active community of users who have already ranked and reviewed the specific free items
that interest you. All you have to do is direct Google to search through each of these
individual social media sites, and bingo… you find quality content ranked by hundreds of
other people.
Examples:
site:[Link] free “desktop wallpaper”
site:[Link] free “wordpress templates”
site:[Link] free “stock images”
site:[Link] free “ringtones”
site:[Link] free icons
Google for Music, Videos, and Ebooks
Google can be used to conduct a search for almost any file type, including Mp3s,
PDFs, and videos. Open web directories are one of the easiest places to quickly
find an endless quantity of freely downloadable files. This is an oldie, but it’s a
goodie! Why thousands of webmasters incessantly fail to secure their web severs
will continue to boggle our minds.
Examples:
o Find Music: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified”
+”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “Counting
Crows”
o Find Videos: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified”
+”parent directory” +description +size +(mpg|wmv) “chapelle”
o Find Ebooks: -inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified”
+”parent directory” +description +size +(pdf|doc) “george
Or use inurl index of “your song name”
Browse Open Webcams Worldwide
Take a randomized streaming video tour of the world by searching Google for live
open access video webcams. This may not be the most productive Google trick
ever, but it sure is fun! (Note: you may be prompted to install an ActiveX control
or the Java runtime environment which allows your browser to view certain video
stream formats.)
Examples:
o Axis Webcams: inurl:/[Link] or inurl:view/[Link]
o Cannon Webcams: sample/LvAppl/
o MOBOTIX Webcams: control/[Link]
o FlexWatch Webcams: /app/[Link]
o JVC Webcams: intitle: intitle:”[Link] [Motion Picture(Java)]”

COOL GOOGLE TRICKS
Follow the steps to check out this cool little trick.
1. Go to [Link] and Click Image
2. Fill in the search box with anything you like, in my case I had cars.
3. You will get a result page with lots of thumbnail images.
4. Now delete the address bar in my case it was,
[Link] ... a=N&tab=wi
5. Copy and paste the following code in the bar and watch the magic. The code is in a
TEXT file, just select all and paste it in the address bar, "control+a to select all or edit
>select all>copy"
The code will be in the NEXT post box the make it simpler to copy.
