This young talent called Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos
Aveiro, is 21 years old and he was born on 5th
February 1985, in Funchal (Madeira).

Ronaldo history begins at his house door at Falco


farm in Santo Antonio (Madeira). For his birthday, he
kept asking for a ball as present to all his family
members and friends. He didnt want anything besides
a ball. In the morning, at night, he was always playing
football, his life was playing football.

When he was a little kid, Ronaldo has even participated in some


tournaments with adults at his residence zone. He
started to give the first kicks on the ball more
seriously in a club from Madeira called "Andorinha"
(his father was responsible for CFAndorinha
equipments). He began to be in evidence right at the
start (when he was still playing for the lower layers)
and he aroused the greed of both the bigger clubs
from Madeira (Martimo and Nacional). But between
both interests, Nacional spoke higher and Ronaldo
started playing there with a little help from his
godfather.

For Cristiano Ronaldo, playing football was a


passion and because of that
passion hes never been
interested on studying. In
Barreiro school, the
complaints about him were frequent and the marks
have never been good. His quarrels with the studies
have castigated him many times in what he always
liked to do the most. The first times in Lisbon weren't
easy. Ronaldo came to Lisbon with only 11 years old.
Certainly he wont forget about the punishment he had.
When he frequented Sporting Lisbon, this team went
to Madeira to play against Martimo but Ronaldo didnt
go with them because of his behaviour.

Later, he gave up school and he left the studies behind


because he couldnt study and play football at the same time, so he chose his
passion. Ronaldo had an old habit that was always playing one step higher than
he should. When he was already playing for
Sporting Lisbon, in 2002/2003 season, the coach
Laszlo Boloni invited him to train with the main
team. He was only 16 years old, in other words,
junior age. Later, Ronaldo joined Sporting Lisbon
main team definitely and one of his biggest
dreams came true.

Year 2003 was marked by Ronaldo way out


to Manchester United, the biggest dream of every
young player (represent a big international club).
Ronaldo have always dreamt about that and he
finally made it. He will represent number 7 shirt.

His debut by Manchester United happened against Bolton on 16th


August 2003 with a great exhibition.

Now he is one of the better players in the world.
