Battery Testing Chart

This document provides instructions for testing batteries through a multi-step process including: visually inspecting the battery for leaks or damage; checking electrolyte levels and ability to add water if needed; measuring specific gravity of electrolyte in each cell and comparing to charts to determine charge level; recharging and retesting batteries if not above 80% charge; and performing a load test to check voltage under load according to temperature-adjusted charts. If the battery meets or exceeds minimum voltages at each step, it is returned to service.
