PREVENTION OF RAGGING PENALITY OF RAGGING AS STIPULATED
IN THE PROVISIONS OF ACT. OF A.P. LEGISLATURE FOR
PROHIBITION OF RAGGING IN
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Ragging is an act, which is likely to cause insult and annoyance of fear or apprehension
or threat of intimation outrage of modesty of injury students. This is heinous crime, which
is Dominic. There are instances when some psychologically week students have
committed suicides in colleges because of ragging is prohibited within or outside the
educational institutions.
The salient features of legislation and punishment for indulging in ragging
are as follows.

SUSTENTION OR DISMISSAL OF STUDENT FROM THE COLLEGE
1. The act provide for suspension of students from the college, if the complaint by the
sufferer is found to be prima facie true. The period of suspension depends on the
decision of the college which shall be final.
2. A student shall be dismissed from the college, if he/she is convicted for an offence
mentioned above the undergone imprisonment for a term up to 6 months.
3. The ragging will observe in mufti (in plain clothes), in the buses, bus and campus of
Educational institutions.

INTRODUCTION TO THE CANDIDATE AND UNDERTAKING TO
BE SIGNED
BY STUDENT AND PARENT
1. The students are expected to be regular in their classes and should conduct
themselves in a disciplined manner. They should abide by such rules of
disciplines and conduct as stipulated by the institute by time to time.
2. The conduct of students must be exemplary, not only within the premises of
the college form the outside. This will help in maintain prestige and status
of institute.
3. Ragging is prohibited. Any student participating in ragging will be
summarily expelled from the institute. These first year students are advised
to meet the confidence, the principle or other teachers, it they are
subjected to ragging by seniors/ others this will help us in taking the
menace, which is cognizable offence as per the presidential order the
recent act of A.P prohibition of Ragging act (1997) specifies severs
punishment of indulging in or adetting ragging.
4. Students shall not object in their parent or guardians are in contact
regarding their indiscipline, irregularity in attending the classes, default in
payment of fees and poor performance of failure in their Examination or any
other matter of concern.
5. The college will not defray any expenses for any out of stations educational
tours. With regarding out stations tours, they may approach the head of the
department for necessary preparations and organization of the tours, the
out stations or local tours are always accompanied by the teachers.
6. The office bearers of the students association are nominated on the basis of
merit in the S.B.T.E.T Examinations if necessary.
7. The students should inform any charges in the address of their parents/
guardian in academic and Examinations cell of the institution.
8. Students of Smt. Sarojini Ramulamma College of Pharmacy are not
permitted to resort to strikes and demonstrations with the college
participation in any such activity shall automatically result in dismissal from
the college. Any problems they face can be represented to the concerned
Head of the department and the principal individually.
9. The institute premises and building should be kept clean. Writing or sticking
up of posters and the notices on the building walls is strictly prohibited.
10.
The institute has full powers to suspend, fine, restricate, or take any
action, which is deemed necessary in the charge of any discipline on the
part of the students.
11.
The academic regulations of S.B.T.E.T of which our college is affiliated
are binding on the students.
