Dangling Misplaced Modifiers1

This document discusses dangling and misplaced modifiers, providing examples of each and exercises to practice identifying and correcting them. It begins by defining a dangling modifier as a phrase or clause that does not logically modify any word in the sentence. It then gives examples of common types of dangling modifiers like participial phrases and provides revisions. The document also discusses misplaced modifiers, where the modifier is not placed close enough to the word it intends to modify, again with examples and revisions. It concludes with two practice exercises to identify and correct dangling and misplaced modifiers in sample sentences.
