LUNA AND SCOUT IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST OF DREAMS

30 SECOND PROMO

FADE IN:
EXT. BUSY CITY - DAY -(STILL ONE)

We see a large city.

AUDIO: We hear the sounds of the bustling metropolis going about its daily business.
FADE TO:
EXT. BUSY CITY - DAY -(STILL TWO)
AUDIO: As the city sounds grow louder the background music begins to fade in.

As the NARRATOR starts the camera slowly fades to the SECOND STILL, guiding us closer into the
city.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
Some people say that there is no magic left in the world.
FADE TO:
EXT. BUSY CITY - DAY -(STILL THREE)
We find ourselves outside a shop that doesn't seem to fit the city at all. It's store front looking
more like something out of "Harry Potter" film, than something you'd see in a metropolitan city.
Above the door in old fashion script is a sign that reads: DR. MIDNIGHT'S HOUSE OF MAGIC.
The camera continues to pan in and the door opens as if on its own. A cheery bell is heard.
AUDIO: Cheery door bell
NARRATOR (V.O.)(CON'T)
That princesses kissing frogs that turn into handsome
princes...
INT. SHOP - DAY
The camera continues to make its way into the strange shop coming to rest on a miniature
diorama of a large frog in Victorian dress with massive lips trying to kiss a tiny, angry looking
princess. The princess is having none of it and her tiny arm is pulled back as if ready to slap the
cheeky frog in the face.
NARRATOR (V.O.)(CON'T)
...or indeed frogs who kiss princesses that turn into
beautiful frogs, can only be found between the pages of
their bedtime storybooks.

Suddenly the Narrator's voice becomes angry.

NARRATOR (V.O.)(CON'T)
Well I say....
The camera jerkily darts over to the sound of the angry voice. We see an old man (Narrator)in
spectacles with an angry expression on his face. He slams his fist down on the counter hard.
NARRATOR
HUMBUG!
Two very old looking books on either side of the old man's fist suddenly spring into the air. The old
man's expression turns, his eyes begin to sparkle as he starts to laugh. The two books begin to flap
as if they are birds. The swirl about dancing, weaving in and out of each other until they reach the
ceiling which they noisily smash into. Stars shoot out as if in an old time cartoon and the old man's
laugher grows. The books ( still in the manner of birds) suddenly separate and shoot out the open
door.
CUT TO:
EXT. SHOP-DAY
The books rise into the air high above the city and with one last bow to one another they separate
to continue their journey on their own.
CUT TO:
EXT. HIGH RISE-DAY
The flying book seems to spot an open window in a high rise. Without hesitation it darts through
the open window and comes to rest on a pretty pink vanity table.
CUT TO:
EXT. INNER CITY-DAY
We find the second book flying aimlessly about a fire escape of a crumbling inner city building. It
suddenly spots an open window and darts into a darkish room - landing on a coffee table.
CUT TO:
INT. HIGH RISE LUNA'S ROOM-DUSK
A little girl (LUNA)dressed in pink pajamas discovers the old book on her vanity. She opens it and
seeing the blank pages a smile crosses her face. She immediately jumps into bed and begins to
draw a picture on the books first page.
CUT TO:
INT. INNER CITY APARTMENT LIVING ROOM-DUSK.
A boy (SCOUT)in his pj's is moving the coffee table to pull out the bed on the couch when he
discovers the second book. He opens it and seeing it's blank pages his eyes light up. He quickly
pulls the couch out and jumps into bed. He opens the book and begins to write.
CUT TO:
INT. HIGH RISE LUNA'S ROOM-NIGHT
Luna has fallen asleep with the pencil and the book still in hand. We see a picture of a small girl
crying. Two grownups (the parents) wave as they walk out a door.
NARRATOR (V.O.)(CON'T)

What young Luna and Scout are about to discover is that
magic never dies!
CUT TO:
INT. HIGH RISE LUNA'S ROOM-NIGHT
The camera pulls into Luna's picture. Suddenly the sad little girl smiles and jumps out of the
picture. She sees Luna and begins to pull on her pajama sleeve.
CUT TO:
INT. INNER CITY APARTMENT LIVING ROOM-DUSK.
Scout too has fallen asleep with pencil and book in hand. The camera pans into his first page.
Instead of a picture we see writing. The camera focuses on the word " BULLY" that scout has
written in large capital letters. The letters suddenly shift and begin to fly off the page. As they fly
about Scout's head they begin to change. The dark black begins to shift to light blue and the
characters themselves change. No longer do they read "BULLY", they now read - "FRIEND"! One
after another they gently begin to tap Scout's nose. With his eyes still closed the boy tries to swat
them away. Finally realizing that whatever it is won't go away Scout opens his eyes. He sees the
letters in front of him and looks on in amazement.
CUT TO:
INT. HIGH RISE LUNA'S ROOM-NIGHT
Not getting the result she wants the little drawn girl pulls harder on Luna's sleeve. Luna does not
stir. Changing strategy the little girl walks over to Luna's face and pinches her nose. Luna's eyes
spring open! Seeing the character she's just drawn in front of her Luna quickly sits up and pulls the
covers up to her chin. The little Drawn girl waves and smiles then points to the bedroom wall.
Suddenly the wall begins to shimmer and change color. Luna's eyes grow big in amazement.
CUT TO:
INT. INNER CITY APARTMENT LIVING ROOM-DUSK.
Scout's eyes follow the letters as they begin to dance. Suddenly they change shape and form
themselves into a crane and wrecking ball. The ball swings back and releases, hitting the living
room wall hard. The wall breaks away leaving a huge hole. Scout jumps out of bed to survey the
damage. What he sees in the massive hole in the wall is not the dirty city at night but at the edge
of an enchanted forest in midday. The sounds of birds chirping fill the air as Scout looks on in
amazement. Suddenly the letters reform into 'FRIEND" and fly behind Scout, prodding him
forward towards the forest.
CUT TO:
INT. HIGH RISE LUNA'S ROOM-NIGHT
The shimmering wall comes into focus to reveal the edge of an impossibly green forest. Luna gets
up and tentatively moves a few steps forward. We hear the sound of birds noisily chattering to
one another. A small rabbit appears. It looks at Luna. It's nose twitches as it surveys the dark
room. Not likening what it sees it turns and runs off into the forest. The drawn girl giggles and
pulls Luna's pajama leg. Luna resists for a moment but the beauty of the forest overcomes her and
she follows the drawn girl into the magical land.

CUT TO:
EXT. ENCHANTED FOREST DAY
Scout walks towards the forest as the words, their job done, fly off into the sky. At the same
moment Luna steps into the magical land and sees Scout. The two look at each other and the little
drawn girl giggles again runs into the wood.
The two children smile at one another and are about to speak when they are interrupted by
someone (SUNNY) saying:
SUNNY
Welcome!
The children look around for the owner of the voice but see no one. Scout looks up and sees the
sun smiling down at them. He points and Luna looks up and smiles back. Suddenly the forest
comes alive. We see birds, plants and animals* burst out of the forest all saying welcome to the
two children. A tree (MONTY)reluctantly opens his eyes and half heartedly says:
MONTY
Welcome...I guess...
The camera pulls back as the children, animals, Sky Folk and plants happily get to know each
other.
NARRATOR (V.O.)
So why not join Luna and Scout in the Enchanted Forest,
who, with the help of their new found friends, learn that
when troubles of life get you down there is always a
solution and a good friend you can turn to!
CUT TO:
Two old vultures, (sisters, BERTHA and MILDRED) dressed tackily in ill fitting dresses and costume
jewelry are perched in Monty's branches.
BERTHA
HA! Turn to! TURN ON more like!
The two birds burst out laughing and Mildred, "mistakenly" hits her sister in the face with her
wing. Bertha stops laughing abruptly and hits her sister back. The two begin to brawl, feathers
flying. A stray feather floats down and lands on Monty's nose. Unable to stop himself he loudly
sneezes, knocking the two old birds off his branch. They disappear into the greenery; their
bickering voices fade with the picture.
NARRATOR (LAUGHING)
And they say magic is dead!
FADE OUT
