Course Description: Social Science 3 (General Psychology) s designed to give you a general overview of
the field psychology. Key concepts and theories will be introduced to you in understanding human
behaviour. This aims to increase your personal growth since you will be able to discover different scientific
methods or skills to find solutions to everyday human problems.
Course Competencies:
I.
Knowledge of theoretical perspectives
a. Know the basic concepts and theories of psychology
II.
Application of psychological principles
a. Apply the psychological concepts in the micro (self) and macro level (society, especially
the Philippine setting)
III.
Develop personal awareness and growth
a. Reflect on personal experiences in the lens of the different psychological principles
b. Understand the self and others better
c. Become aware of the use of psychological concepts in daily human experiences

Punctuality: Come on or in time the class. Attendance will be checked before the class starts.
Submission of Outputs and Papers. Assignments and activities missed due to unauthorized absence cannot
be made up. You are responsible for all assignment/ information given out during your absence;
Academic Integrity: No to plagiarism. No cheating. Papers found out to be plagiarized will be given an
automatic grade of 5.0
Classroom technology: Turn-off or put the mobile phones in silent mode. No laptops, netbooks or tabs will
be used during the lecture or class discussion except if it is needed.
