Mr. Graham Goldsmith 
Mr. Goldsmith is currently the Chancellor of Swinburne University of 
Technology. He is a highly-respected figure in the Australian 
financial services industry and an experienced company director 
and community leader with a deep commitment to education. 
Mr Goldsmith has served as a member of Swinburnes Council 
since August 2010 and Deputy Chancellor of Swinburne University 
of Technology since February 2014. Before that, Mr. Goldsmith was 
the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Goldman Sachs 
Australia. He retired in 2012 after a 25 year career with the firm. 
In addition to his roles at Swinburne, Mr Goldsmith is a non-
executive director of ASX listed companies Djerriwarrh Investments 
Limited and SEEK Limited, and NYSE listed Zhaopin Limited.  He is 
also president of the Bialik College School Council, a K-12 
independent school in Melbourne. 
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a 
Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, and a CPA 
member of the Australian Society of Chartered Practicing 
Accountants.

Tan Sri Effendi Bin Norwawi 
Tan Sri Effendi Bin Norwawi is currently the Chairman of 
Bloomberg Malaysia. Previous to this he was the Executive 
Chairman of Encorp Berhad, a property development and 
construction company he founded and is listed on the main board 
of the KLSE.  
Tan Sri Effendi was formerly a Senator in the Upper House of 
Parliament (2006-2012).  He was also the Federal Minister in 
Agriculture (1999  2004) during which time he initiated the 
modernisation and commercialisation of agriculture.  His last post in 
Cabinet was Minister in the Prime Ministers Department in charge 
of Economic Planning Unit.  
During his tenure, he was responsible in accelerating the 
implementation of high impact national projects; he also initiated 
the National Implementation Task Force (NITF), the National 
Implementation Directorate (NID) and National Economic Action 
Council (NEAC).  He was also principally involved in coordinating 
the master planning of the five (5) corridor developments in the 
country. He retired from politics in 2008. 
He was also the Executive Chairman of Sarawak Economic 
Development Corporation (SEDC), which he led for 15 years (1981 
- 1995). During his time the SEDC won the Chief Secretary to the 
Government's Quality Award and the prestigious Malaysian Prime 
Minister's Quality Award. He was the Chairman of Bank Utama 
(now part of the RHB Banking Group) between 1990 and 1995 
during which time he led its turnaround into one of the major banks 
in Malaysia then. He also founded NTV7, the private free-to-air TV 
channel that he has since divested.    
Dato Dr Derek Goh 
Dato Dr Derek Goh is an Executive Chairman & CEO of Serial 
System Ltd, a company he founded as a sole proprietorship in 
1988.  Serial System Pte Ltd was incorporated in 1992 and was 
publicly listed in 1997. Serial System Ltd is a leading 
semiconductors/components distributor of active and passive 
components to original equipment manufacturers and sub-
contracting businesses in the Asia Pacific region.  
As an entrepreneur, Dato Dr Derek is recognised by the community 
for his contributions in Singapore.  He was Entrepreneur of the 
Year awarded by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises 
(ASME) and the Rotary Club of Singapore in 1996; conferred the 
Singapore Youth Award (Individual) for entrepreneurship in 1997 
and ASEAN Best Young Entrepreneur Award by the ASEAN 
Secretariat in 1999. In addition, he was awarded Asia Pacific 
Entrepreneurship 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year by Enterprise Asia 
and the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 Singapore 
Award for the Electronic Components Distribution Category. 
In 2010, Dato Dr Derek was conferred the Public Service Star 
Medal (BBM) by the President of the Republic of Singapore. In 
2013, Dato Dr Derek is appointed an Ambassador for 1000 
Enterprises for Children-In-Need.  
In September 2013, Dato Dr Derek was appointed as an Adjunct 
Professor to the Faculty of Business & Design for Swinburne 
University of Technology Sarawak Campus.    
Ir. Alex Ting Kuang Kuo 
Ir. Alex Ting is the Managing Director of WTS Consultant Sendirian 
Berhad., an engineering consulting firm, which has completed 
several major projects in Sarawak. He is a Professional Engineer 
as well as a Corporate Member of Institution of Engineers, 
Malaysia. Ir. Alex is also a Registered Valuer.  
In 1980, Ir. Alex was elected as the National President of Jaycees 
Malaysia and has since served in several industry bodies in various 
leadership capacities. Currently, he is a Committee Member of 
Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Advisor to 
Sarawak Housing & Real Estate Developers Association. For his 
many community engagements, he was awarded Ahli Bintang 
Sarawak (A.B.S.) in 2006 and Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K.) in 
2009.    
Mr. Barry Lim Sun Heng  
Swinburne alumnus Barry Lim Sun Heng has more than 40 years 
experience in business and agriculture technologies.  He started 
work in estates as their plantation manager.  He later ventured into 
agriculture research and development. In the earlier days, Mr. Barry 
served as a director in the boards of publicly listed companies 
before returning to focus on his family business. 
Mr. Barry, who prides himself as an inventor and innovator, 
achieved a world-first when he and his team of researchers 
succeeded in planting African mahogany trees (Khaya Ivronansis) 
using agriculture technology.  This research achievement was 
published in an international conference organised by Forest 
Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Ministry of Natural Resources 
and Environment in October 2002. He was also responsible for the 
innovation to control the Hypsipyla Robusta Moth that withstood 
class 1 chemicals insecticide that was a breakthrough in 
agricultural technology.   
Mr. Barry advocates outdoor-based training and learning as an 
essential aspect of entrepreneurship development.  He created the 
Melolisa Foundation that funds, amongst others, Swinburne 
University of Technology students to experience outward-bound 
training curriculum.  
In September 2013, Mr. Barry was appointed Adjunct Professor to 
the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science at Swinburne 
University of Technology Sarawak Campus.    
Madam Anne Kung Soo Ching 
Madam Anne is the Executive Director and CEO of Instacom Group 
Berhad, a telecommunication infrastructure contractor, listed on 
Bursa Malaysia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree 
from the London School of Economics and Political Science, 
University of London. She was called to Lincolns Inn in London and 
the High Court of Borneo in 1983. After practicing 4 years as a 
lawyer in Kuching, she returned to London where she was attached 
with Touche Ross and obtained her qualification as a Chartered 
Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England 
& Wales.  
Prior to joining Instacom Engineering Sdn Bhd, she was the 
Finance Director of Quality Concrete Sendirian Berhad in 1992 
before assuming the position of Executive Director in Quality 
Concrete Holdings Berhad in 1996. She has served as the 
Treasurer of Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry since 
2007. She is a member of the SOCSO Appeal Board and Industrial 
Tribunal since 2004. In addition, she is also a member of the 
Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered 
Accountants in England & Wales. She received the 2013 Sarawak 
State Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
