CFM Formula

This document provides guidelines for ventilation requirements based on building size and intended use. It includes: 1) A formula to calculate the minimum CFM required for ventilation based on building cube feet and desired air changes per hour. 2) Tables listing typical minute air change rates needed for various commercial and industrial spaces, ranging from 1-20 air changes per hour. 3) Information on selecting axial propeller fans for exhaust ventilation, including an example calculation for fan sizing based on a building's dimensions and desired air change rate.

PROPELLOR FANS
(Axial Fan) An air moving device in which the air flow is parallel to the shaft on which the propellor
is mounted. These fans have good efficiency near free air delivery and are used primarily in low
static pressure, high volume applications. Usually mounted in a venturi or other housing featuring
simple construction and low cost.
