HOW TO CAPTURE VIDEO
TECHNICAL TIPS
Shooting
Literary script: It is the text and dialogue of the film.
Technical script: It includes all the technical features:
the actor’s movements
movement of the camera
the types of shot
the sequence they belong to
the scene
the soundtrack.
The shooting team.
The director: The person in charge of the final product. He decides how
and where it is done.
Actors/Actresses: they are those who embody to the characters
Producer: The one that decides the expenses and provides the
necessary means. In cinema, it also is understood that is in charge of
looking for the funding.
Assistants: both the director and the producer have assistants.
Make-up, hairdresser's and characterization: those who characterize
the actors and take care of his/her looks.
Sound: they record the original sound with microphones.
Camera operator: he is the manager of handling the camera
Script: it is the link between the director and the others. And he/she
usually says the number of shots, that is to say, the scene the shot
belongs to.
Lighting: It is the fact to decide what lens to use, what reinforcement is
needed from artificial light, etc.
Production.
Advice:
Use a tripod to obtain a better image.
Don’t use the continual zoom while shooting. Just take different shots.
Don’t put the camcorder facing sunlight. Light must always be behind
you or on your side.
Be careful with unwanted noise from:
People, traffic, animals…
Remember that within the soundtrack noise can have different
sources:
Off voice for a narrator
voice to represent character’s though
Different noises to set up a situation: a bell tolls, birds, a ring,
etc..
Shot different scenes with the camcorder don’t try to film
continuously.
SHOTS
Extreme Long Shot: It's a Close Shot: It shows the head

What the different shots mean
Big general shot: Descriptive, general sight of landscape, it shows where

Middle shot: It shows more detail. The figure cut at the waist level.
Close shot: It shows intention, feelings,…
Detail shot: It directs the attention to one interesting centre. It is very good
to explain many situations instead of dialogue.
Panoramic shot: The camera spins around the space.
Travelling: The camera is moving for the tripod, steadicam…
Crane shot: The camera is moving in the air in many directions.
Zoom: The lens moves for many distances.
Special shot: Superimposing, change sounds…
Subjective shot: The camera looks through the eyes of one person.
Shot-Into shot: Changes the shots.
Nosedive shot: The camera looks the persons who stay above the lens.
How to capture a video.
You need a capture card.
You also need video software to capture the video.
Plug in a cable from the videocamera in the computer.
After that, capture the video with the video software.
Now you have the video in the computer and you can record it in a CD.
CD/DVD
To save your video/s in a CD or DVD we are going to use the
program called nero
Open the program and select DVD or CD
Click in CD or DVD-ROM ISO
Click in new
Select your directory and add your archive/s
Click in burn and choose the caracteristics of your CD/DVD
Click in burn and wait for a moment
Put into the computer
If you have a camera recorder that can record in a memory card of SD.
You have to insert the memory SD card into the SD´s driver
If you have a camera that can redord a tape or mini DV you need a machine to
transform the videos from mini DV tape to data for the PC.
How to record
1. Press the button on in the camera
2. Open the screen
3. Finally, Press the button rec
(if you want stop the recording press rec again)
How to import the videos into the
computer
1. Plug the camera usb cable in the computer.
2. Open the screen and select to connect with the computer.
3. Import the video.

Import the videos
Organize the videos
Import the soundtrack

To add effects:
Click to see effects
Select the effects and press ctrl+d
To add transitions:
Click to see transitions
Select the transition and press ctrl+d
Soundtrack
Import:
Click in Import audio or music
Choose the sound that you want
for your video (You can donwload
a great sound from a soundbank)
Drag the video to the line time
To silence a video
Click with the right button of the mouse in the sound.
Click in silencing .
