with using Haltech ECU Manager software.
.
Supported Vehicles
The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU supports the following models:
Optional Accessories
The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R is designed as a plug and play solution for the
Nissan R35 GT-R. It allows the user to have control of the engine quickly and easily
by using the supplied patch harness.
The patch harness is the way the Haltech Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU interfaces
with the standard Nissan ECU.
Please Note: The ECU patch harness is designed for the supported vehicles
only. Please do not attempt to modify this harness, as doing so will void
warranty as well as potentially damaging the ECU or vehicle.
The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R patch harness incorporates the following auxiliary
connections allowing the user to control external devices and to use non factory fitted
sensors. Auxiliary connectors are outlined below.
Please note wiring colour variations may occur.
The ECU has an Auxiliary Rev Limiter that can be configured via ECU Manager in the
Main setup “Inputs / Outputs” tab.
The Auxiliary Rev Limiter input connector can be found on the 2 position AMP connector
fitted to the patch harness.
To activate the Auxiliary Rev Limiter, connect the Auxiliary Rev Limiter input to the
ground wire. The wiring for this connector is below.
The ECU has a General Purpose Output that can be configured via ECU Manager in
the Main setup “Inputs / Outputs” tab.
The General Purpose Output can be found on the 3 position AMP connector fitted to
the patch harness.
When the output is activated by the ECU the output will switch to ground. Solenoid
valves and shift lights etc can be run directly from the output, however high current
devices such as thermo fans and additional fuel pumps must be activated through a
relay. This way the output is only switching the relay and not a high current draw device.
The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU does not use the factory O2 sensors.
For closed loop O2 control the user must install a wideband O2 kit which can
be purchased from Haltech.
The switched 13.8V, signal ground and outputs of the controller can be connected
directly to this connector.
(Please refer to wideband O2 kit instructions for more information)
The wideband inputs can be configured via ECU Manager in the Main setup
“ O2 Wideband 1” and “O2 Wideband 2” tabs. The wideband O2 Inputs can be
found on the black 4 position AMP connector fitted to the patch harness.
The wiring for this connector is below.
This connector is currently not used and is for future enhancements to the ECU
The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU is capable of communicating with the vehicles
on board CAN Bus. These connectors give the user the choice to be able to intercept
the factory CAN messages.
The CAN Intercept connectors can be found on the breakout loom which contains
• Two 2 position AMP male plugs
• One 2 position AMP female receptacle
The two 2 position AMP male plugs are labeled on the plugs as follows:
• “H” Indicates Haltech CAN
• “V” Indicates Vehicle CAN
Please Note: When connected in this mode you may need to press the start
button twice to start the vehicle due to the ECU requiring time to turn on and
intercept the start button CAN message.
Please Note: ONE CAN Data connector MUST be connected at ALL times.
To install your new Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU please follow the procedure below.
2. Locate your Factory ECU, which will be located underneath the dashboard on the
passenger's side. If your vehicle is an Australian or Japanese delivered model you
will be required to remove the glove box to gain access to the ECU.

8. Turn on the vehicles ignition, and go online with the ECU using the supplied
ECU Manager Software.
10. In the Main Setup page, make any adjustments in settings. This is required if your
vehicles engine has been modified. eg. larger injectors. The base maps have been
setup to suit standard engine configurations.
14. Once the car is running please check the ECU is showing the correct RPM.
If RPM is correct the car is ready to be tuned. If the RPM is incorrect or not
reading at all, please consult the Help Manual.

ECU Manager Help
When ECU manager saves the map from the Haltech ECU, it saves the map with
a Haltech specific file extension.
Later map versions cannot be loaded into ECU's with earlier firmware versions.
ECU Manager will upgrade earlier map versions when loading into ECU's with later
firmware versions.
ECU Manager upgrades maps between versions where equivalent settings are available.
However, new settings not in the original map, will be substituted with
values from the new version's default map.
The Haltech Platinum Pro ECU's can interface directly with selected CAN devices.
CAN connections can be found on the 8 pin rear connector.
A 120 OHM terminating resistor connected between CAN High and CAN Low
terminations may be needed in some applications where the ECU is located at the end of
the CAN Bus. The ECU is equipped with an internal terminating resistor which can be
enabled by fitting a wire link between pins 2 and 6 of the 8 pin connector
( Please see example below , connector sold separately Haltech Part # HT030003 )
