Athlete Abdominal Endurance Test

The Curl-Up Test assesses abdominal muscle endurance by having athletes perform as many curl-ups as possible in one minute, keeping pace with a metronome. Performance is compared to normative data tables for classification of results as excellent, good, fair or poor based on age and gender. Reliability depends on strict administration and motivation, while validity reflects training effects on physical development. Advantages include minimal equipment, while disadvantages require a specialist timer and administrator.
