Dear Sir: Please be advised that Rosensteel Law (the Firm) represents Universal Remote Control, Inc., a New York corporation (URC) and has been authorized to issue this letter by URC. The Firm is writing this letter to notify you of apparently illegal activity engaged in via http://urcsoftware.com and www.urcsoftware.com, which domain name has been being hosted by Voxility S.R.L. (Please see Exhibit 1). Since its registration on August 17, 2013, this domain name has apparently been used to commit software piracy against URC Complete Control Program (URC CCP Software). As a background, please note the following: 1. URC is a manufacturer of remote control devices.

2. URC sells the URC products only through its authorized dealers and distributors in the U.S. and other countries. 3. None of URCs PC Programmable remotes or its Total Control wholehouse products, including any software, are authorized for online internet distribution in whole or in part.

4. URC CCP Software is the URCs software suite for programming certain URC remote control devices. 5. Only URCs authorized dealers and distributors are permitted to download and distribute URCs software required to program URC remote control devices, including but not limited to the URC CCP Software. 6. Such downloading of the URC CCP Software requires URCs authorized dealers to pay for the license fee. However, http://urcsoftware.com and www.urcsoftware.com are offering free reproduction and distribution of the URC CCP Software, without authorization from URC, via direct linkage to which is referred to as the professional piracy website known as www.thepiratebay.sx. (Please see Exhibit 2). As you are aware, www.thepiratebay.sx apparently supports an illegal piracy site (Please see Exhibit 3). In addition, the URC remote control devices are being offered for sale via http://urcsoftware.com. It is likely that such are illegally obtained, including but not limited to, being obtained in the black market (Please see Exhibit 4); As you are further aware, the referenced activities associated with the domain name of http://urcsoftware.com and www.urcsoftware.com are likely illegal and constitute copyright infringement as well as trademark infringement to the trademark of URC (U.S. Reg. No. 3629207). For the above reasons, URC hereby requests you to immediately: 1. Disclose the identity and contact information of the registrant and/or operator for the domain name of urcsoftware.com; and Cease hosting the domain name of urcsoftware.com;

URC assumes that Voxility S.R.L neither had knowledge of such illegal activity nor participated in such. Please find the enclosed a copy of the URC letter to the registrant for your reference as Exhibit 5 and a copy of the URC letter to PrivacyProtect.org for your reference as Exhibit 6. Please note that URC takes this matter very seriously.

(Please see Exhibit 2). As you are aware, www.thepiratebay.sx is an illegal piracy site (Please see Exhibit 3). You are hereby notified that your conduct is illegal. It violates applicable U.S. and international law, and constitutes copyright infringement of the URC CCP Software and its related documentation, as well as trademark infringement to the trademark URC (U.S. Reg. No. 3629207). You are further hereby notified that both you and the downloader of the URC CCP Software via http://urcsoftware.com and www.urcsoftware.com are liable for damages (including statutory penalties) to URC. For the above reasons, you are hereby requested to immediately: 1. So my case is a little different. Unlike most everyone else whos commented here I wasnt looking for the software for a pre-existing remote that I owned. I just bought a MX-890 on eBay for around $350 and thanks to you guys will be able to program it as soon as it arrives. Now just need to pick up a cheap MRF-350 soon and I will be all set. Going through a dealer I would have been paying $500 + $250 + (~200 in programming) = almost $1000. Finding a MRF-350 for around $100 shouldnt be too hard on eBay so my total all-in shouldnt be more than around $450. Saved over $500 THANKS!!

After installing the CCP program Im having an issue with retrieving the programming from my remote. Does it automatically load up or is there something that I need to do? I connected the USB cable and started CCP but it is asking for me to start a new file. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

After opening CCP choose the Empty option (No Rooms, No Remotes) then hit X to close the window that pops up asking you to setup the home layout. Then click on the Communications tab in the toolbar near the top and then click on the button Get from Remote. Have your remote connected to your computer before doing this and you should be able to get your remotes programming on your system. Good luck!

Can confirm this works. Just downloaded it with uTorrent and followed the instructions in the guide to download the software. Installed it on my Windows 7 laptop and was able to pull the software from the remote onto my computer. Scanned the file with my virus scanner first and it came up clean. Thank you very much.

Ive owned my URC remote for 5 years now. The system was installed and had quirky problems involving some of the button macros. Technicians had to come back several times to modify the remote programming. After a few years and over $1000 in service visits, the on/off doesnt reliably turn off or on ALL devices. Again, it is quirkyi.e., it sometimes does and sometimes does not. Finally, I decided to take this into my own hands and so tried to find the programming manual and software for my device. After calling the Universal Remote Control factory I learned that the software and programming manuals are available only to dealers.

Thank you so much for providing the software here. I am sick and tired of paying professionals who cant solve simple problems with this thing. If you dont want to have to be held captive to professionals for your AV system, DO NOT make my mistake. Buy the device and program it yourself.

Thank you very much for sharing this. I love my URC remote but am sick and tired of having to pay someone anytime I need to make a minor change to my programming.
