CreatingtheGeometry

Createanelevationorinteriorelevationlineonthefloorplaninfrontofthecabinet.Thelineshouldbe paralleltothefaceofthecabinetbecausewewanttogetanorthogonalelevationviewofit.

Planview.

Gointothe(interior)elevationview. Measurethesizeofonedoorpanel.(UsetheMeasuretool,theTrackerortheCoordinateBox.)This sizewillbeyourcustompanelsize.Ourexampleis599mmwideby629mmhigh.

Elevation.

Gobacktothefloorplan,andusingslabs,drawthegeometryofonedoorpanel.Inourcase,wewill createasortofaprairiestylepanel.Assignthemthepensandmaterialsyouwishtoseein2D/3D.

Doorpanel.

Note:Whencreatingapanelwhichistobemirrored(asinthiscase)youneedtomodelandsavethe leftpanel.Thisisimportantwhenthegeometryofthepanelisnonsymmetrical.Modelthepanel,the mullions,andtheglass.Whencreatingthepanel,rememberthatthepanelshouldhaveenoughwidth onitsrightsideforthedoorknob. Selectallelementsjustdrawn. UsetheFile/LibrariesandObjects/SaveCustomComponentmenucommandtosavethese elements.

TheSaveCustomComponentcommand.

IntheappearingChooseComponentTypedialogbox,selectCustomObjectComponentfromthe dropdownlistandclicktheChoosebutton. IntheappearingFiledialogbox,specifythenameandlocationforthelibrarypartfiletobesaved. Applyingthenewpanel Selectthecabinetobjectonthefloorplan,andgotoitsSettingsdialogbox.

ClickOKtoacceptchangesandgotothe3Dwindowtoseetheresult.
