1 General
1.1 Description
A. Perform work required to complete the Bi-fold Hangar Doors indicated by the
Contract Documents including supplementary items and accessories
necessary for complete installation.

1.3 Submittals
A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s product data and installation
instructions. Include both published data and any specific data prepared for
this Project.
D. Warning Labels: Furnish warning labels for any potentially hazardous locations
related to the operation of the door.
D. Design Criteria
1. Shall withstand dead load, seismic forces and design loads due to
pressure and suction of wind calculated in accordance with applicable
sections of the building code.
B. Furnish inserts and anchoring devices that must be set in concrete or built into
the building structure for unit installation. Coordinate delivery of these devices
with other work to avoid delay.
1.6 Warranty
A. The manufacturer shall guarantee each hangar door for one year from the
date of substantial completion of the building against all defects in material
or workmanship or problems, which arise through the normal anticipated
usage of the door.
2 Products
2.1 Acceptable Manufacturer
Products of the following manufacturer are acceptable, provided they comply with the
Contract Documents.
D. Button rollers shall have mask bearings (extra heavy duty roller bearings) on 3”
wheels. Lifting mechanisms and components shall be designed with a 5.1
safety factor.
E. The door shall be bi-fold canopy type and shall be electrically operated. The
electrical operator and controls shall be the products of the manufacturer’s
normally engaged company for the production of such equipment. The
electrical operator and controls shall be the manufacturer’s latest design.
F. The aluminum doors shall supplied in mill finish and assembled into welded
frames of 6061 T-6 aluminum.
G. The door shall be equipped with neoprene weather stripping at heads and
jambs. The weather stripping at the head shall be installed to prevent the flow
of water into the door installation. Sills shall have a special fabric reinforced
high-grade rubber astragal.
10) Remote Control allows for easy opening and closing (to include
two transmitters ,a receiver and a remote antenna)
3 Execution
3.1 Preparation
A. Coordinate requirements of insert and anchorage device installation with
concrete contractor and building structural frame contractor.
3.2 Installation
A. Supervision of assembly and erection by door manufacturers personnel or
authorized installer
B. Touch-up damaged coatings and finishes and repair minor damage. Clean
the exposed surface using non-abrasive materials and methods
recommended by manufacturer of material or product being cleaned.
