Please accept this letter of reference for Bryan Blattert. I was able to
work with Bryan during his internship with the Livingston County
United Way, from January through May 2016. In my role as the
Livingston County Community Collaborator, I facilitate and organize 12
county-wide workgroups focused on community needs and gaps.

Bryan came to this internship filled with a willingness to learn and help
in whatever ways he could. He attended many of the workgroups I
facilitate and not only learned what efforts we are working on, but had
incredible insight and ideas for ways to address current gaps and
needs. He has an ability to look past the problem and identify longer
term strategies. He also is not capable of allowing a roadblock to stop
the forward progression. If you have ever worked with county
workgroups, sometimes the work can be slow and the hurdles can
deter the progression. Bryan does not see hurdles; he sees
opportunities and identifies ways to tackle them.
When Bryans internship was over, a group of us discussed what a
profound impact he really had on all of us. There were rich
discussions about his willingness to go out and forge new
relationships and new partnerships (of which we still have). There
were conversations about just how his perspective on life has
impacted how we view our efforts and the importance of them. Lastly,
he started a conversation about how we support our abilities
population. This summer we are reviewing our policies and efforts
related to the abilities populations and it is largely in part due to
Bryans unique willingness to share his story.
So, in conclusion, not only can I highly recommend Bryan for any
social work related position, I am confident that any team would
benefit from having him and his perspective at the table. Feel free to
contact me if you have any additional questions. arennie@cmhliv.org
