GOVERNMENT

Italy is ran by an unitary parliamentary republic. Italy is


headed by a head president that appoints a prime
minister. The current president of Italy is Sergio
Mattarella. The current prime minister is Matteo Renzi. A
unitary parliamentary republic is a type of republic that
runs under a unitary and parliamentary government
system.

LOCATION

Located in southern Europe, Italy is a peninsula extending


into the Mediterranean sea.
Italy borders France to the west, Switzerland and Australia
to the north, and Slovenia to the east.
Italy shares borders with San Mario and Vatican
Italy is shaped like a high heel boot, kicking a small
triangle (the island of Sicily)

CURRENCY

The Italian currency is called Euro.


1 Euro equals $0.91 in US dollars.

The Colosseum is the hugest amphitheater ever made by


the Roman Empire.

peace and honesty, and the red stands for strength and
valor.

The official language of Italy is Italian.


There are regional languages that co-exits with the official
language.
Italian is a romance language and comes from vulgar
Latin.

CULTURE

The Italian culture is filled with the arts, family,


architecture, music and food.
Italy is the home of the Roman Empire and the
Renaissance.

FOOD

Italy had of different republics, each with different cooking


styles. These cooking practices were passed down from
generation to generation. They contributed to the
diversity of Italian food.
France, Austria, and Yugoslavia, also influenced Italys
food.
