Conor Beattie- C.

V
I am currently in my first year of university at Southampton Solent
where I study advertising and marketing. My course gives me an
advantage in working life due to the skills and professionalism it
teaches combined with my hardworking, enthusiastic personality. I
work competently as part of any team but can also perform well
independently with maturity and professionalism. My work experience
thus far is a sales and customer service role at My Place Caf,
Ballyholme and since moving to Southampton I have worked in a sales
team for Home Fundraising. I believe I would make a very positive and
successful contribution to any relevant organisation.
To demonstrate an example of my capability; at Bangor Grammar
School I was elected as school representative/president for my entire
year group. I was voted into the committee known as the school
council by majority vote from the peers in my year group. Tasks and
responsibilities involved weekly meetings, speeches, voice of
reasoning for fellow peers towards management, project initiations
and even laying the beginning foundations for the building of the new
school.

Interests and Skills
Ive been an enthusiastic sportsperson for many years, playing tennis
and swimming for clubs, whilst also playing 1 st XI hockey for my
school. I am a member of Bangor Golf Club and have been for 4 years
running. I have played hockey for Ulster RDS in both hockey and Table
Tennis. Sport not only developed my teamwork skills but also
enhanced my communication and people skills. I was a keen member
of the Army cadets, learning skills such as teamwork, discipline and
leadership. This also enhanced my organisation and communication
skills, as I had to interact with approximately one hundred cadets
aged 13-18. I like to keep in shape and attend the gym a few times a
week. I also completed my Scouts award in my early teens to Gold
standard. During my time in Northern Ireland I played in the highest
football division for Ards FC and since recently coming to
Southampton I have focused mostly on football where I am currently
first team goalkeeper for Andover Town FC hoping to move up the
ranks.
