CT/e Dual benefits from General
Electric's very latest technical innovations
Ultimate technol
and its proven experience. The result:
perfectly consistent technological choices
throughout the imaging chain.
While most of these technologies have
been developed with the aim of obtaining
exceptional image quality, they all
contribute significantly to the reduction
in dose to the patient.
HiLight detector:
The reference in solid-state detectors
GE Medical Systems' supremacy in the field of solid-state detectors
is acknowledged throughout the world: its HiLight detector already
provides superior image quality with notable dose reduction.
This is due to an exceptional absorption factor (99% at 120 kVp)
and an outstanding scintillation efficiency. In 1998, GE Medical
Systems innovation led to the launch of the matrix-based detector.
CT/e Dual combines performance and complete mastery of multi-
slice technology.
BeamTracking:
improved image quality
and dose reduction
BeamTracking is a unique feature from GE
Medical Systems that guarantees real-time
focus stability. A dynamic collimator perma-
nently checks the centering of the X-ray
beam on the detector
thanks to data transmitted

AutomA:
optimal image quality
The absorption coefficient of X-rays varies for different tissues;
a constant tube current may be too high or too low.
AutomA adapts current to the absorption coefficient for each slice.
Signal/Noise ratio increases and the dose is reduced.
Bowtie Filter:
further dose reduction
logy Bowtie filter attenuates off-axis rays in order to
maintain a more uniform X-ray field at the detector
whatever the position of the beam through the
patient. The bowtie filter minimizes surface dose
by up to 50% and reduces X-ray scattering effects.

Ergonomic and user-frien
Innovative, intuitive and user-friendly,
the CT/e Dual interface enables
acquisition in just a few mouse clicks.
Users can customize the system and
have their own parameters set up for
each new session.
Reconstruction is immediate
and entirely automatic. Using
a DICOM-compatible open
system, CT/e Dual makes all
transfer, printing and archiving
procedures simple.

Interactive use of MPR mode following thin slice helical
acquisition.
Axial thin slices acquired with the cluster mode allow controlling
of the patient breath hold. Helical acquisition is performed
with dedicated chest algorithm. AutomA optimizes the dose
during the entire acquisition of the chest.
