JamesMcCulloch,acashierfortheBaltimorebranchoftheUnitedStatesBank,
wassuedforviolatingthisAct.McCullochadmittedhewasnotcomplyingwiththe
Marylandlaw.McCullochlostintheBaltimoreCountyCourtandthatcourtsdecision
wasaffirmedbytheMarylandCourtofAppeals.Thecasewasthentakenbywritoferror
totheUnitedStatesSupremeCourt.
