Conducting a field study is not an easy task because its my first time and i do not
know what would be the outcome of this experience and the issues or problems I
may encounter or face. I spent the first day asking permission of the chief of
hospital to allow me to use their hospital with the specific area or unit to be the
topic of my organizational environmental analysis. I was so grateful because after
reading the letter that i gave him, he informed me that i am free to do the study.
Then i approached the chief nurse and the unit head nurse, they were also
accommodating but i can sense that they were busy. I can say that the first day is
quite successful because anyhow, i somehow started my requirement.

I returned the next day and went to the administration office to ask some questions
regarding the organizations history. Then i went to the obstetric ward with the
prepared questions that i would ask the head nurse regarding the organizational
environmental analysis. Im thankful because she, the head nurse answered my
questions as best as she could even though she is busy and have other important
things to do than entertain me. After that I observed the way the ward works and
functions and took down some notes.

Last day of my field study, i continued to observe the area that i chose and ask not
only the unit head but as well as the staff nurses, volunteer nurses and some
personnel with the questions that has something to do with my study.

I organized the notes that i gathered and begin to make the final paper that i would
submit for my subject.
