CHAMBER THEATER
(3rd Year 4th Year)

November is the National Reading Month as per DepEd Memorandum No. 182 s 2012
which aims to inculcate/promote love for reading. This is in support of the Ten-Point
Education Agenda of the Aquino administration to promote the Every Child A Reader
Program (ECARP). This years theme is, Nasa Pagbasa ang Pag-asa.
One of the activities in this celebration is the Chamber Theater. It is a method of
adapting literary works to the stage using a maximal amount of the works original text and
often minimal and suggestive settings. In Chamber Theater, narration is included in the
performed text and the narrator might be played by multiple actors.
Chamber theater has more realistic costuming and actual movement around the
stage. Readers parts are typically memorized. Still is not full-pledged stage acting and
typically has pantomimed props rather than the real ones.
