HOUSEHOLD AND CLEANING SUPPLIES


LEVELS OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES There is a large variety of different levels of
residential services that sober living homes choose to provide. Below are some choices to consider.
1. RESIDENCY -- Housing accommodation and basic furnishings, bedding, TV, and other essentials.
Residents are responsible for the upkeep and operation of their housing.
2. FOOD SERVICE Providing a food service could require a county health license and categorize
the home as a boarding house. There are ways to organize the residents to provide a food service.

3. CLEANING SERVICE -- Residents are responsible for maintaining individual sleeping areas.
Other areas are kept clean by cleaning and maintenance assignmentseither by management or
resident council.

4. SUPPLIES, ETC. Does management provide cleaning and beverage supplies or residents?

5. TELEPHONE There can be a house telephone with local access or pay telephone provided by
management. Residents can also have cell phones or pre-paid telephone cards.

6. SOCIAL SERVICES -- Management informs and assists residents with social service needs.
