Metal spray

1. Powder Welding system to deposit a wide range of micro flow powder

alloys through a specially designed oxy-acetylene delivery system. It is
simple to use and requires only oxygen and acetylene. EWAC 1001 EB a
boron deposit powder is used which can deposit hardness ranging from 55
62 HRC.A metallurgical bond is obtained between the deposited powder
and base metal through the surface alloying principle. The melting point of
the powder is much lower than melting point of base metal because of
which the melting of the base metal does not occur. The deposits are
dense, homogeneous, porosity and oxide free and a layer as thin as 0.075
mm(0.003 in.) can be applied.
Outstanding features :

Retains high hardness at elevated temperatures.

Resists galling, scoring and seizing.
Excellent weld ability and Exceptional dense smooth deposits

2. TWIN WIRE ARC SPRAY PROCESS: In this process, the wires are fed into
a gun where they are electrically charged and directed together to
create an arc. The resulting heat melts the wire, forming droplets that are
propelled by compressed air or gas to the part surface Coating quality and
properties can be controlled by varying the atomization pressure, air
nozzle shape, power, wire feed rate, traverse speed, and standoff
distance. Arc sprayed coatings exhibit excellent adhesive and cohesive
strength. This process requires no gases and also the spray rates are
faster compared to Eutalloy process. A patented , Universally accepted
Chromium Carbide in Nickel Matrix composition is used for qualitative
performance.
Procedure of Twin Arc Spray Process
1. Before applying coat, entire marked area to be grit blasted using
Aluminum Oxide
( Al 2O3) . This ensures any oxide/ grease
removal if exists on the surface of tubes. The quality of a coating is
mainly depends upon the extent of surface preparation . Grit blasting
provides an anchoring effect for the metal spray to deposit. The time
gap between blasting and coating is another key factor for a defect
free coating.
2. Arranging the torch, wire feed controls, ensuring compressed air @ 6
Kg/ cm3 and flow rate of 200 CFM, amperage adjustments and finally
starting the coating process.
3. Bond Coat wire as base layer & Ultra Hard wire as top layer, a
combination of both gives a deposit of 0.4 - 0.5 mm thickness and
process temperature not exceeds 200 degree C. This Low heat process
is an added advantage for the WIRE ARC PROCESS.
