Uke and Ori demonstrate three techniques: 1) Flying birds sword - Uke attacks Ori's back with a waist-high cut as Ori exposes his back while moving. Ori counters by quickly striking Uke's ribs with his sword. 2) Chinese lion attacks - Ori moves and turns his body to expose his left side as a target for Uke. When Ori exposes his left side for the third time, Uke steps in to cut at Ori's side. Ori lunges forward, thrusting at Uke's heart. 3) Cross swords - Ori moves left, exposing his right side. Uke cuts at Ori's right waist. Ori moves forward, grabbing Uke's sword hand before thrusting

Kodachi Kata Hicho Ken (Flying birds sword) Uke starts in daijodan and does jodan kiri, which

finishes with Uke in seigan no kamae (this is not the attack, but a show of strength). Uke then steps back into hidari hasso no kamae. ori is a good distance away with the Kodachi, in shi!en no kamae. "ach time he mo#es, a little of his back is e$posed as a target for Uke. Uke, when shown enough of the back, will attack the back at waist height with do uchi. ori walks % jumps forward #ery fast, and strikes Uke in the ribs with the Kodachi. &shishi 'eki ((hinese )ion attacks) Uke is in daijodan, ori is in naka seigan. ori mo#es to the left and turns his body to present the left side of his body as a target, then mo#es his right foot to the left, back into naka seigan. ori repeats this twice more. *s ori mo#es around Uke, Uke will pi#ot on the spot to maintain a watchful eye on ori. +hen ori,s left side is presented a third time, Uke steps in with the right leg to cut do uchi to ori,s left side. ori lunges forward with his weight o#er the right leg and thrusts the Kodachi at Uke,s heart. ori keeps his left arm down by his left side for protection and continues his forward mo#ement by stepping yoko aruki. -uji Ken ((ross swords) Uke is in daijodan, ori is in shi!en no kamae with the Kodachi in the left hand. ori does yoko aruki to the left. his will e$pose ori,s right side to Uke. Uke will cut with do uchi to the right side of ori,s waist. ori mo#es forward with the right foot, and takes hold of the sword hand with his right hand. he Kodachi is then thrust into Uke,s shoulder, or slashes the shoulder.
