CEO Rodrick Zerafa is currently attending the SME Assembly 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰, proudly representing Malta 🇲🇹 following Servizzi Ewropej f’Malta’s recognition as the Winner of the National Supporting Business Award. The SME Assembly is the foremost annual event for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe 🇪🇺, held as part of European SME Week. Together with the network of SME Envoys, it forms an essential part of the governance structure of the Small Business Act—driving dialogue, innovation, and growth across Europe’s SME community.

🇪🇺 Over the past two days, SEM’s Head Policy, Charlene Caruana, participated in the high-level conference “Invest in what matters – What is at stake in the EU long-term budget” organised by the European Parliament. 💬 This participation formed part of SEM’s ongoing engagement within the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) network. 🤝 The conference provided an opportunity to connect and collaborate with other CSOs and stakeholders, sharing insights on common challenges and exploring new partnerships. 💡 SEM highlighted the importance of using thematic events, campaigns, and success stories to communicate EU-related matters in a clear and human-centric way — ensuring that the 🇪🇺 EU remains close and relevant to its citizens. #EU #CivilSociety #EUfunds #InvestInWhatMatters #EuropeanParliament #CSO

As part of SEM’s stakeholder engagement efforts 🤝, our Head of Policy, Charlene Caruana, participated in the ‘Club of Venice’ meeting held in Warsaw 🇵🇱 on 9–10 October. The two-day programme featured insightful discussions on disinformation 📰, strategic communication 💬, and the impact of AI 🤖 on crisis communication. This event brought together Member States, EU Institutions, the private sector, and international stakeholders 🌍 to explore how these issues influence policy and decision-making, while also examining ways to build more resilient economies and respond effectively to ongoing challenges and threats 💪.

During their visit to Brussels for the European Week of Regions and Cities, SEM management met with Maltese MEPs Agius Peter, Alex Agius Saliba, Daniel Attard, and Thomas Bajada to discuss key issues related to EU policy and funding.
