In the EU, 1.45 million people, aged 15 or over, were employed in postal and courier services in 2024, compared with 1.40 million in 2014. 📮📯 🔹 Among those employed, 0.90 million were men, representing 62.9% of the total workers of this sector. In 2024, the value of sold postcards in the EU was €60.0 million, down 15% compared with 2023 (€69 million). 🔸Since 2014, this value has been in decline. However, during the global pandemic, from 2020 to 2021, it grew by almost 50%. 𝗘𝗨 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗦 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 ↔️ 📉 In Q3 2025, the EU registered a €40.8 billion trade in goods surplus with the 🇺🇸 United States. This was a 13.3% decline from the €47.1 billion surplus recorded in Q2 2025. 🔹 From Q1 2021, EU imports from the United States followed a pattern similar to EU imports from the rest of the world, until Q2 2022 when imports from the US increased, and remained at a comparatively higher level, compared to imports from the rest of the world. In the EU, in 2023, transport activities accounted for 32% of the final energy consumption in the EU, road transport was the largest energy consumer, responsible for 73% of all energy consumption, or 10 974 petajoules (PJ). ⚡️🚚 ✈️Air transport: 13%; 1 866  PJ ⛴️ Water transport: 12%; 1 810  PJ 🚅Rail transport: 1%; 217 PJ 🔸 In most EU countries, gas/diesel oil was the primary source of energy for road transport.
