In October 2021 it was announced that the first UK soap opera crossover involving Soaps Coronation Street (1960), EastEnders (1985), Emmerdale Farm (1972) and Hollyoaks (1995) and Medical dramas Casualty (1986) and Doctors to highlight climate change. The crossover will be the biggest ever and the first of its kind.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the crew donated all of their personal protective equipment to the NHS, rather than using it in episodes.
