The Goonies are a gang of outcasts and misfits living in Astoria, Oregon. The members of The Goonies are reckless asthmatic Mikey, his brother bully and fitness enthusiast Brand, cocky Mouth, inventor Data, fat, ugly and stupid constant liar Chunk, cheerleader and damsel in distress Andy and her best friend Stef. The Goonies explore the attic in Mikey and Brand's house as the house and other houses in the neighborhood are set to be demolished by greedy property developer Mr. Perkins and in the attic find a 17th-century Spanish treasure map. This map allegedly leads to the treasure of a legendary Spanish pirate called One-Eyed Willy who according to the legend was trapped inside a cave. Upon finding a 1935 newspaper article about a treasure hunter called Chester Copperpot who vanished searching for One-Eyed Willy's treasure, The Goonies decide to go off in search of the treasure believing that the treasure could save their houses from being demolished. However, their lives are soon in great danger when they learn the treasure is in a network of underground tunnels and caves beneath an abandoned restaurant which is the hideout of wanted criminals Mama Fratelli and her sons Jake and Francis and that One-Eyed Willy set up deathtraps in the caves and tunnels to stop anyone from getting to the treasure. As Mikey, Brand, Mouth, Data, Andy and Stef go off into the caves and tunnels, Chunk is kidnapped by the Fratellis and is forced to tell them that the other Goonies have gone underground. The Fratellis go off in pursuit of the other Goonies and are bent on taking One-Eyed Willy's treasure for themselves.
Chunk (real name Lawrence Cohen) is a member of The Goonies, a constant liar he has a rocky relationship with the other Goonies due to his behaviour of lying and telling fake stories.
Sloth was born Lotney Fratelli and is the 3rd son of evil criminal Mamma Fratelli and brother of criminals Jake and Francis Fratelli. As a child, Sloth was left deformed and mentally disabled due to abuse he suffered from his mother. Mamma, Jake and Francis had Sloth chained in a room and Mikey witnessed Jake torturing Sloth with his terrible singing. Chunk who was kidnapped and interrogated by Mamma, Jake and Francis was locked up with Sloth and Sloth frightened Chunk over his deformity and Sloth took a instant liking to the fat and ugly Goonie when Chunk tried to give him a Baby Ruth chocolate bar which Chunk threw it at him which hit him on the forehead and landed on the floor and Sloth frantically ripped his chains off the wall and freed himself and shared the Baby Ruth with Chunk and Chunk and Sloth went down to the fireplace and went after the other Goonies, Mamma, Jake and Francis.
Apparently so. It's alleged that the skull of One-Eyed Willy is in-fact a real human skull and it's rumoured but never confirmed that the skull was of a man named Raul Woo who died from lead poisoning.
Lisa Quan. Et voila :D ;)
Robert Davi did his own singing. He used to be a trained singer.

The DVD contains a commentary with director and cast, deleted scenes (including the octopus), a music video and a documentary.
Sean Astin had to leave halfway through recording DVD commentary for "The Goonies" because the recording session started late, and Sean had an earlier commitment to introduce friend Joe Pantoliano at a local theatre. He left the recording studio to change his clothes, then returned to apologize and explain why he had to leave. Sean gave a "shout out to Joey Pants," and jokingly left an action figure of Samwise Gamgee (his character from the "Lord of the Rings" films) at his seat to take his place.
However, Sean's departure and explanation were edited out of the finished product by the DVD producers for reasons unknown, making it look like Astin simply vanished from the studio.

During the cast commentary on The Goonies DVD (2001) there is a quick exchange between director Richard Donner and Corey Feldman. Then it's never spoken of again.
Donner: "I don't remember any of this. I think I have to go back. Let's re-shoot this."
Feldman: "Aren't we about to?"
Donner: "Yes, it's a possibility."
During his promotional tour for his film No Country for Old Men (2007), Josh Brolin - Who played Brand in The Goonies - was asked if there was a Goonies sequel in the works. It seems that you got a different answer depending on his mood.
There have been two video game spin-offs: The Goonies (1985) and The Goonies II (1987).

Yes. Note that the DVD box and the special features menu incorrectly label the deleted scenes as outtakes.
In several interviews afterwards, Sean Astin has said this has been something almost everyone has wanted to know.
Astin has said in several interviews (one of them for Empire Magazine), that he had wanted to apologize on behalf of the Goonies crew for when they shot their scenes for Cyndi Lauper's music video for the song, "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough." Supposedly, the crew was running on limited energy, and Astin felt that they gave the impression that they didn't want to be there, when in actuality, they did.

The Goonies was filmed on location in the small seaside town of Astoria, Oregon, in Clatsop County. The Walsh home of Brandon and Mikey is at 368 38th Street, in Astoria. The final scenes on the beach were filmed at Goat Rock Beach in Northern California.
When Chester Copperpot first discovered One Eyed Willy's treasure key, he went off alone in search of One Eyed Willy's treasure and went into the caves. One of One Eyed Willy's booby traps, a boulder, which was hung atop of the ceiling of the cave, somehow, without Chester Copperpot setting off the trap, dropped and crushed Chester Copperpot's legs and Chester Copperpot died from his injuries.
When Mikey first tells Brand, Mouth, Data and Chunk, the story of One Eyed Willy. Mikey says that One Eyed Willy killed his men to stop any of them from stealing his treasure. Presumably, One Eyed Willy killed the pirate by stabbing him in both eyes with the two daggers.
The boulders were meant to crush any intruders, not block the cave. There was plenty of room for an adult to squeeze past them.
