Jess was born in New York State and currently lives in Maryland, near Washington DC. Jess began her career in high school and college, working as a sound board operator, a production assistant, and other various things. After receiving a B.A. in History from SUNY - University at Albany, she moved to New York City where she took various Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway stage management gigs. From there, she entered graduate school where she is working on a M.A. in Cultural Sustainability and Digital Arts to become a documentary filmmaker.
She is an editor for The Rap Critic on YouTube, is involved in a podcast, Late Night With Bisexuals, and has her own two web series on YouTube: Fool's Gold, where she looks at Old Hollywood and the issues still prevalent today and Superhero Rundown, where she looks at superhero media and interprets what ordinary people can learn from these super-powered beings. She has directed the Atop the Fourth Wall: The Movie.
